Are there any aftermarket reservoirs that can be easily used on these cars? I'm tired of my stock reservoir's leaks. It leaks around the seam and the cap. I researched it and it seems to be a pretty common problem.

Its over filled. Take fluid out till its at the lowest mark and it should be fine. The problem seems worst on Manual cars, I think its because the clutch shares the reservoir with the brakes.

You try sanding down the top mouth on the plastic reservoir where the cap contacts it? Do so carefully, using a block and sandpaper, keeping all the material out of the fluid. That stopped mine from leaking a couple years ago.

There were some posts on here about doing that.

Hey thats a good idea. I'll give that a shot and remove a bit of fluid too. Any tips on keeping the plastic shavings from going in?

roll a big piece of duct tape backwards/ inside out. Place it in the hole to fill it up. the sticky side will collect the shaving as they drop.

I think I stuffed a piece of shop rag in the opening AND used the backwards tape as well.
Remember, you've got to keep all foreign material out of the fluid; you don't want a spec getting in and causing problems.
Just be careful and take your time and do it right and clean.

The other option is to make a gasket for the cap. remove the gasket inside of the cap and cut a circle of thin gasket material, then add the new gasket and the sock gasket. this places a little extra pressure on the seal.
