LED headlight install in Raxiom Headlights

Hi there,

[I believe this qualifies for the tech section but please move accordingly if i am mistaken.]

I own a set of these Raxiom headlights.

I am thinking of installing some H7 and H1 LED hi/low beams, but I am unsure how to go about installing them into this particular unit.

The rear of the headlights look like this:

These were the LED kits (OPT7) i was looking at using on Amazon:

Any suggestions if these LEDs are compatible and how I can actually hook them up. Would i need another harness of some kind?

Looks to me you'd have to take out the 4 screws to get the panel off to have access to the bulbs.
As far as the LED lights, they may not fit since it looks like there is a pretty big heatsink on the back. I'm sure you could make it work, but there may be some "custom" work involved.
Maybe someone with these lights could chime in, and let you know if there is sufficient room to work with.
I'd also love to hear about the light output of these bulbs. Good luck.

Saleen is right, your light output will be terrible. You'd be better off with the halogens that come with them. They do make HID bulbs that fit that projector.

Honestly for the ammount of money people spend on trying to make aftermarket lighting kits work, you could just put a HID retrofit together and do it yourself and have a quality piece of equipment.

The HID's that fit the Raxiom projectors will be your best bet to use what you have.

I have these headlights and put hid's in the projectors and light output is 100x better than the bulbs that come with. I took the 4 screws off made a hole on back cover for wires and that's it! The hid kit I picked up was from DDM tuning 35w 5000k.

Like others said, HID's will have better output. I ran 2 sets of DDM tuning slim ballast 35w HID's for about 3 years and never had an issue. A few years ago, people had some issues with DDM where people would order 6000k bulbs and ended up receiving 5000k. I'm pretty sure they got everything worked out.

Ok dumbo qu time:

Of the options in the above pic in black, which one would i need?
Mounting brackets i assume are a must
HID Harness - single or dual relay?
Error Eliminator - BOW3 or 4700uf Capacitor?
Adaptor Cables - not req'd i dont think

If it makes a difference ill be buying for the headlights and foglights.

IF you install HID's into the oem foglamps, in the upper grille, you will blind everybody. If you use the high beams, your fog lamps will shut off...so you won't even be able to use em on unlit roads. (you would have the high beams on). So u won't be able to use the hid fog lamps in town or out on some abandoned road.

Interesting point Pentalab. I was going to put 3000k yellow hids in the fogs anyway. My intention was to only turn them on when in actual fog and keep the LED halo surround (Raxiom smoked fog lights) on as DRL

HID in a halogen reflector is going to blind you in actual fog conditions. It would be worse than running high beams. I think the '13+ fog lamps are the way to go if you want more from your fogs.
