Hmm, I put LED bulbs in my factory headlight housing on my 2011 F350 and they seem to work gread. They don't seem to be obnoxious to others and are not as bright as HID bulbs were but they seem to be brighter then the Halogen stockers and seem to be a great compromise. On my 05 I replaced the stock headlights with raxiom projector housings and LED bulbs I put in them. There is much less scatter and light pooling with this setup, they don't seem to be as bright as the HIDs in the stock housing, while driving, however, I find that distant objects are much easier to spot, as well as distant signs. I am sure I am not using proper lights in proper housings, but it works for me and I don't seem to be getting flashed by annoyed on-coming drivers anymore.

I put in a call to CJ pony parts and had quite a talk with them this am. They are going to investigate the issue. Some led kits from various makers indeed have come out of the factory..with top and bottom led wiring reversed ( internally, inside the led driver).

The problem with LED retrofit bulbs is that all the light comes out of 2 tiny pinpoints. The reflectors aren't designed for that.

I put LED bulbs in my '11 grille fog lights. They look awesome from outside the car, but they don't light up squat. I am OK with this, because I have the factory HIDs, which make driving at night similar to driving at noon on a rainy day.
