Life Expectancy of Products

Seeing as over time more and more threads disappear from these sections, I figured I'd ask the question, how long of a shelf life do your products have?

I had half a tub of CG Lava begin to grow mold (wtf) after about a year in my detailing cabinet, and I've held onto some products to the point where they begin to separate and become unusable. What are some of your storage tips? My detailing cabinet is in my garage against the wall leading into the house so it never gets too cold (below 50) but some days in summer it can be close to 100. I should really move my waxes and compounds indoors but I hate having to drag everything out when I go to detail.

Most products should last a couple of with the exception of some products like gtechiq on of thier coatings has a 2 week shelf life after its opened.

Most of my stuff sits in my garage. I've seen alot of people put their nubas in the fridge until needed. Even if.the product separates some will shake back or close and work just have to test it on something.

I keep my wax and wheel sealants in the house in my closet and they seem to be fine still and it has been close to a year now. They have shrunk a little but no mold like you mentioned. All other stuff is kept in the garage in a cabinet. I have had a few things I just threw away because they separated and since I never used them, I didnt even try to save them. I do try to shake all the bottles from time to time just to keep them mixed. I have also heard of people putting Nuba's in the fridge but never tried it personally.

I keep all my polishes, sealants, interior cleaners, and waxes in the house in the laundry room to play it safe. Ultima Tire & Trim Guard I had ruin (separated) while sitting out in my garage this summer so that comes inside now as well.

And threads don't disappear. You need to go into your control panel and change your settings to show all threads in the subsections. This subsection has 24 pages of topics but the default shows only 4.

Contact with air is the culprit usually. If you are going to store product long term, try something like this - http://www.amazon.com/Enthusiast-Private-Preserve-Preservation-Spray/dp/B0000DCS18

It is most likely argon gas and should help increase the life span. Plastic does allow solvent loss from anything stored in them. You might also put the items in a ziploc freezer bag to help.
