Carl: I may wind up doing that, I guess it all depends on what the off-season planning comes up with. I may still sell the thing and get a 2011, or I may just stick with what I've got. I just need to do some thinking once the season wraps up. Only six more track days left...
Bizzy: I agree with you on BOTH points. The competition rules are written around the concept that *if* you change something, then the only reason you would change would be for a performance advantage, therefore, it costs points. In the eyes of the rules committee, a splitter is a splitter, whether it's a good one or not, so... +3 points for a modified fascia (after all, it's not stock), and another +3 points for the splitter/lip-spoiler. Just because it doesn't work as well as a carbon-fiber sheet sticking 4" out from the front of the car isn't their fault... I get it. I don't like it, but I get it.
Sweeper: The Steeda fascia is the best looking one out there, IMO. If all I was doing was HPDE/track-day stuff, I wouldn't worry about it at all, but I'm running Time Trials, so I have to live and die by the rule book. If you haven't yet, get out to a NASA event, talk to some of the time-trialers and you'll get an idea of what I'm up to...
