Thumpr's and Hot Rods are both great choices for sound and power. What's the going install rate for a set of NSR cams these days anyways?

Don't use JDM for the HR cams until you call them and verify they have them in stock..I have been shopping for the HR cams for quite some time and a vendor said they can get them for $715 shipped..that was the best price I had seen so I was going with them until I received a PM from JDM saying they could match the price and had them in stock so I ordered them on Feb 4th. I waited to receive an email/phone call saying what the tracking/shipping info and heard nothing. Called that Mon/Tues and was told they would ship that day and I would receive the tracking number that day...I heard nothing...this repeated over the next two weeks with me calling JDM to get updates and was promised I would receive a call that day with info..again not one call from JDM...I was told JDM did not have them in stock, they were back ordered from Ford and the only place JDM could get them was from a local vendor that would charge JDM $750 and JDM could not honor the $715 that my CC had already been charged as he could not sell the cams for a loss.

We agreeed to cancel the order and have my CC refunded...2 recommendations for JDM-don't offer to sell a customer something unless you know you can get the part in a timely manner and if you tell a customer you will call them back do so.

Many people have used/use JDM and I am sure they do good work...my one and only experience with them was not positive....so, if anyone wants to buy HR cams my advice is to call the vendor to ensure they are in stock. I did this with American Muscle before I placed the order and was assured they had 3 sets in stock.

I had quotes from 3 different installers ranging from $250-300. I am going to install them myself.

Sorry I havent been the most on point about calling back Greg. I did tell you I would call once or twice and got so tied up I forgot to. Its been very busy here and im the only guy on the sales team right now. I appologize for that. We have been in conversation about this order and Ive been keeping you up to date the best i can. Ford Racing has these cams on back order. I can only get them from a supplier locally. Who I was waiting to hear back from on what price i could get them for. Well last night after i left work, Julie heard back from them and our cost is $40 above what i sold them to you for. You asked me to match a very low price, I did but it put me into a position where I can now not order the cams except through Ford Racing. Im sorry it turned out like this but if yuo can get these cams as cheap as you asked me to sell them for from some one else in a quicker time then that is totally cool. I did try to help you out my best so dont hang me for this one!:dead2:

I'm not trying to cheerlead, but I believe the post above says it all.

My thoughts:
The guys at JDM work their tails off to satisfy their customer base. If you want good customer service, you call JDM and pay their price. The people you haggle with are the ones that distribute the products from the web and have no service or tech reps. In this instance, RPM Outlet comes to mind, buy cams from them (you may receive them, and may not). Jr. gave an explanation for the issue and asked you not to bash him about it, to be understanding and what do you do? You bash him anyway.

The Bottom Line:
I have ordered from the Joe and the Jims several times and have never had a problem. When Sr. is here, he spends most of the time tuning customer cars (some unexpected), and then has to rush and hustle to make his "to do" list complete. These guys are true professionals but sometime, no matter how much you want to satisfy everyone, it just doesn't happen.

:deadhorse:

Whoa whoa whoa...no one is bashing anyone...this is why I wanted to keep this to a PM but was told that was chicken shit..so I guess I can't please anyone...

Glad to hear you had no issues...I did and voiced my side of the story...they should not offer to sell a product if they do not have it in stock or are certain they can get it..and not charge a customers CC until the order processes...

I say again-I did not contact JDM to buy the cams, they contacted me...

But keep up the "non cheerleading"...sheesh...

Greg, I believe this is a simple isolated incident.

Glad to hear you had no issues...I did and voiced my side of the story...

Yes sir, as you should. The day you can't is the day this becomes a forum under Communist rule.

they should not offer to sell a product if they do not have it in stock or are certain they can get it..and not charge a customers CC until the order processes...

No one stocks parts anymore, that is what the internet got us. Cheap prices but uncertain availability. It's a catch 22.

I say again-I did not contact JDM to buy the cams, they contacted me...

Yes sir, and his supplier was unable to deliver. It happens.. I think SD and I were commenting on the fact that this had already been in the JDM area of the forum and now discontent was being spread elsewhere. These are good people. The day I cannot call JDM for anything, will be the day I start playing golf.

Really? $250 to $300? I got a quote of about $500 from Brenspeed for Mutha Thumpr's install with phasers....

Seems a little high now if you are getting $250 to $300 quotes....

I asked because the shop that sponsors me lists their install price at $700, which seemed high. Then called them myself and they told me $500 for me, which is the lowest I have seen from any shop in south florida, it's almost like there is no recession down here lmfao

The quotes I received were from mechanics doing it on the side...I am sure if they were shop installs they would be higher.
