Low boost readout

The belt tensioner someone linked earlier. Apparently there's two specific ones. V band belts and our flat belts with the grooves.

I was going to check mine but the belt tensioner is for V belts. That's how old it is.

I'm still confused? Are you saying that gauge I linked is for V belts?

The gage that I have is an old V belt gage. Nothing to do with the one you posted. I was going to check mine so he had something to compare it to. Sorry for the confusion.

Yeah, that's low. I like to see 20in lb/rib. So you would want to see about 120 in lb. It may be possible to get a tensioner with more spring in it. I would have to see the tensioner used if I were to be able to make a suggestion.

Well, between this belt having 10k miles on it and the fact that it was meant for the next-larger pulley (3.375), if I was to go with the next-smaller pulley (3.125) I really think I should do a slightly shorter belt, and probably a higher quality one, like one of the green ones

Where is the tensioner resting in relation to its range of travel? Is it near the middle of the range, is it all the way stretched back or is it almost all the way sprung? You need to look at this in order to determine if you need a shorter or longer belt.

You can usually mess with idler pulley sizes in order to compensate slightly for belt length and get the tensioner into the middle of the travel range.

The thing is so buried, I'm not looking forward to checking that or changing the belt.
I bought a bap and am working on getting an L&M twin-66mm throttle body.
I hope these 2 things with a re-tune will be able to get me back to almost 600 rwhp but we'll see, might need a smaller pulley for that

I doubt that will solve it 100% but it's an easy step so do it and then check to see what you have.

Another -1472 DA day will probably get you there, lol.

If you go to a smaller blower pulley, the idler can then be increased, to improve belt wrap around (maximizes belt contact area)..and also to take up slack on the existing belt.
