When I bought my 05 GT, it was lowered on MM springs and oem struts/shocks
I am now replacing the oem struts, and shocks with bilstein's b6
It seems the b8 is no longer produced, and b6 is used with some lowering springs applications. Does anyone have any insight on putting MM springs, which have a drop of approx 2", on the B6 struts?
Thanks!

To anyone who might be curious, I have a new set of sportline springs I am going to put on my b6 struts, and see how it goes. If I hate them or if I start to bottom out, Ill get rid of them (I got them cheap) But I'm slightly optimistic given that the b6 are designed for pro kit, and sportline isnt a huge step up from that imo.
We will see though, I may pay through the nose for my curiosity.

The sportline suggests 1.6" front and 2" rear drop. The pro Kit suggests 1.4 and 1.5 rear. Depending on valving the ride with the sportline might be too harsh

B6's are good struts/shocks. Just don't run them too low. IMHO around 1/2 - 1" lower which is about where I run mine (Roush springs/Bilstein B6's). Keep an eye on your rear bump stops as you may need to cut them down about an inch as well. One other thing; spin your front upper strut mounts 180 deg if you're going to run lowered. Instead of pointing out, make them point in. That should put you at -0.7 to -0.8 which is well within specs (-0.75) for camber (and no camber bolts needed). It won't hurt anything; been running that way for +5 yrs now...

Oh I had the numbers wrong on the pro kit, thank you

Found somebody who recorded success with the sportlines paired with b6, but now unsure if I will follow suit

Definitely going to spin the strut mounts as mentioned no matter what springs I get.
Thanks!

BTW, if you have B6's you're going to need GT500 Strut mounts (they're more heavy duty anyway). B6's will not work with standard GT mounts. The mounting holes are different and won't match up if you try to use the GT version.

Purchased those when I purchased the b6s.
Thanks for the rec!
