I wouldn't do it just because of how ugly and small the engine looks in the s197 engine bay.
but that's just me :roflmao:

edit: before anyone posts "but but but but but" I don't care how much power it makes.
Power can be had/bought/made with anything on the planet, you can't fix that "hotdog in a hallway" look.

Yeah, but that ~$3,000.00 turns into $~7-8,000.00 when adding a power adder. Plus most people run that combination. Plus this idle is superior to any modular I have run across.

How much do you think it would cost to put an LSx into an S197. There is no kit. Its custom EVERYTHING. You'll be in for $10k I bet. Hell, putting a LSx into another Chevy vehicles is still expensive. Trust me, was I looking into doing a S10 swap. Thought that shit was cheap, it is not.

Now, an LSx in a Fox body, that's something I can understand. Been done a few time, still not cheap though.

Talking of sacrilegious and mental LS1 swaps, I just got back from the workshop where I was helping out my mate with his E30 project...

Nothing beats the Twin Turbo LS1 Volvo station wagon.

I'm using a stock L92 truck oil pan and a GTO shifter and the fitment is perfect. You can probably get by with a GT500 trans crossmember since they used TR6060's. I made custom motor mount brackets , but I wanted to try the C5 and G8 pedestals to see if they worked..they might still. I'm using the the stock ford motor mounts.

I'm getting custom headers but Corvette headers 'might' work since they hug the block.
I'm still researching, but I'm pretty sure an SN95 driveshaft will fit...I'll just have to put the T56 yoke on and 4.11's for an SN95 car instead of an S197.
If you spend 10k on this swap...it's because you're trying to.

One of my friends was building a 93 rx7 with a 383 and finally got rid of it for his 384ci 03 zo6. He said the money he bad invested in the rx7 he couldve bought a C6 corvette. That shows you how expensive custom shit gets

You're doing it yourself. My quote is having parts fabbed up by someone else.

It would not cost that much even if you had someone do it. I can handle the mechanical work but not fabrication, just an option instead of a 420-450whp supercharged 3v.

I was seeing prices around $6-8k to do a fox body and that was with a kit. There's ALWAYS stuff that comes up with swaps like this.

well on camaro5 where they own the cars, they are pissed that they break so easily. and we have seen H/c/i coyote's pass 500rwhp.

for someone who THINKS i havent seen it.. your very first comment doesnt prove you have either. lolumad

WHAT IS YOUR POINT?

my point was that i HAVE seen it on plenty of occasions, not just "read" it, especially on camaro5 where the idiots on that forum probably dont even know how to put an intake on

you have no point you are a chevy troll. nothing more. you are a lost puppy. and one with bad information. the block pukes lifters, rods and pistons at bolt on/ cammed strength in camaros and corvette at 500-600rwhp.

im not a chevy troll. i like them, but i own a mustang which is why im on a mustang forum. i wasnt defending them, just stating facts that ive SEEN, not "read"

you havent seen anything. if you had, youd know all about L92 swapped LS2's. not "i guess".

the LS2 has 243 heads. they never had L92/LS3 heads from the factory.

now, with that said. if you wanna swap it, do it. its not 'superior' to a coyote, its just preference. there are limits that need to be observed, just like anything else.

it would be no different than putting a 572BBf into it. its just preference. if anyone thinks the swap is cheap or easy, they are on crack. it cant be about money to have the car the way you want it.

i answered your quesitons above..

i actually agree with your last sentence. if someone has the money or know how to do something like that and they want, more power to them

im not afraid to admit when im wrong. the info i had on the L76 was that the heads were 'based' on l92's but designed for the 3.988 bore of the 6 liter motor. well in fact it has a 4" bore and the l76 head is a l92. there is bad info out there.

I personally know a guy with stock ls3 internals pushing over 800whp and has been for awhile. He owns a shop in Houston called Auto Adrenaline and he is the tuner. He claims the ls3's rods and pistons can hold 1000hp.
