Ahh, thank you. I do have the rocker switch, it just doesn't work! I've put about 2,000 miles on the car since owning it, and on a longer trip the other day, my back was killing me, but I didn't notice that switch, or didn't realize what it's supposed to do until now.if it has it, there's a rocker switch on the left side of the seat

Was it difficult to take off the seat cover? I read something about having to be careful about unhooking the side airbags so they don't go off when you're tinkering with it.Years ago mine popped while riding down the road. I looked at replacing the unit from Ford and it was close to 500.00. When I pulled the upper seat cover there were two small plastic gears that had broken. That was the only thing wrong with the unit. I somehow tracked down the company that made the unit. I was in Canada and I got in touch with them and they sent me the new gears made of metal and with a grease at no charge, Apparently this was an ongoing problem and was corrected later in production. I do not have the info on the manufacturer but the gears are more than likely the problem.
I'm not as incapable as a typical millenial... but I don't know how to weldheres a link :

the photos show the spring thats broken in 2 . just weld the sucker up and re fit.
Obviously remove the spring before welding it and re fit.
