So far my best 60' is 1.9 on ET Streets (325-50-15). I have moderate power - 460whp.

I do a burnout, hold it at 60mph for about 6-7 seconds, turn off the line lock and roll forward, when it hear the tires squeel and push in the clutch and stage. This seems to work well because the tires get super sticky.

I hit the 2 step (3k to 4.5k) on the 2nd yellow, drop the clutch on the last yellow and keep it floored.
This clearly isn't working for me.

I just read in another thread to let up on the gas as your coming out of the hole and/or slip the clutch. This makes a lot of sense, but I don't think I could get my feet to do that...

How do you launch? Slip the clutch, drop it, wot, let up on the gas, etc..

I always had to slip my clutch to get it to launch, but like you said, I wasn't consistent at doing it and that's why my car is at Brenspeed getting an auto..lol. I tried to find the perfect rpm to launch without slipping the clutch, but it was either roasting the tires or bogging so I always went right back to slipping the clutch. This was on my tr3650 when it was in the car. I switched to the tr6060 but never got to run it at the track due to a bogging problem I didn't get figured out after swapping to the tr6060.

I don't have my slip anymore, but my best 60 foot with 20" wheels and toyo T1R tires is around 1.8 and that was slipping the clutch. Only did it once that well, everytime after that was 2.02 or worse...haha

For as much money as Ive spent trying to get this car to hook up, I probably could have converted it to an auto...

On 15" MT DR's, I drop the clutch and keep the throttle WFO. Adjust launch RPM as needed.

On 18" DR's, I drop the clutch and lift a little off of the throttle and then re-apply throttle quickly.

What are your suspension mods? Does it hook at launch and then spin right after through first?

I loved my stick, but i'm just not good enough with it at the track. I think Woodward Dream Cruise sold me on going auto after pushing in my clutch 1500 times and only going 5 miles...lol. I either need to get some Nitto 20" DR's or buy some track wheels/tires to play with. After seeing that thread of hitting the wall, i'm starting to wonder if I need to stay away. I've been loose due to the same reason he smacked the wall and it scared the shit out of me.

Thats cuz you don't have 460 hp like the op :evillaugh:!! Sorry dude you just throw it out there and its too easy for me to bust your balls until you get your fi put on.

I just went to the track this past weekend on the 2 step for the first time. I managed a 1.689 on my very first pass except I forgot about the two step and ended up dumping the clutch at about 4k with no boost. Every other time I tried it on the two step my brain couldn't tell my go foot to let off and feather the pedal as I was slipping the clutch. I ended up dumping and launching at 2 psi and blew the tires off. It def takes some practice. I only made it down to a 1.7xx two times on all my passes. I'm still on the stock clutch and after the 4 of 7 passes the clutch started to smell so that didn't help much.

Its spinning right off launch. The interesting thing is that it has hooked up on the street before from 3k on the 2 step and slipping the clutch. I wonder if I'm just dropping it to fast at the track. It doesn't wheel hop, or squat much. I had the shocks set on 2 turns from hard at first, then dropped it down to around the middle and didn't see an improvement.

4.10 gears,
j&m lower control arms,
che anti squat brackets,
che rad support and sway bar delete,
rear sway bar relocation bracket,
QA1 single adj rear shocks,
mgw short shifter,
Launch Control / No lift shift,
slp linelock,
brenspeed 10" wheel and tire package (325-50-15 ET street)

I also had nitto 555rs and they didn't hook at all, so I upgraded to the MTs thinking that would fix it.

how much boost does it build at 3k? Mine doesn't build but about 1/2 a psi in 2-3 sec. It probably would build more if I held it longer but I don't want to hold it there all day.

Another thing you can do to help minimize drivetrain shock is this.

After you pre-stage. Set the line lock soft and pull the car into the stage beams with the clutch. Once you put the car on the 2-step, release the clutch a little to load the suspension and take the slop out of the drivetrain. Stock Eliminator people do this. It helps to prevent shocking the small tires too hard. It works, but takes practice.

I only recommend this if you have a sintered iron/metalic clutch disc though.

mine is about the same or less, mine wont build as much as yours because its a sc.

Thats interesting, I have a spec stage 2+ so I'm already a bit worried about its longevity.

I have lightblades used rst with flywheel and a brand new clutch slave waiting to go into my car. I just don't want to do it until I absolutely have to. I'm hoping to get another good t&t out of mine. It should hold good for the track though.
