Hey guys, I have an unpainted Cervini's C-500 series front bumper and I found a guy that can do $150. He told me that he uses matrix paint stuff - does anybody know if this paint material is good or is there a better brand for our performance white mustangs? LMK.

He's doing the paint in his garage... I wonder if I should take it to a shop instead but they'd cost more, wouldn't it?

For $150 I would be very worried.

The problem isn't that for $150, he can't make money painting it. But for $150 total, he's not going to have the bumper prepped very well or at all. Ever wonder how some places charged $400 to paint an entire car? They don't prep which reduces the labor hours by a lot.

Exactly, that is one of my main concerns with this guy and he's even doing it in his garage :argh:. I'm going to go with a shop since I know it'll be done right but hopefully the price is not sky rocket. I'll keep you guys updated.

For some reference, though it varies by where you live, I paid $150 to have my ducktail spoiler painted. And I also paid $150 to have my CDC front lip painted. That should give you an idea.

Definitely. Since my cervini c-500 series front bumper requires more prep and paint, I'm going to expect anywhere between $200-250. Don't you think it's a fair price in that range?

I just had a California Special front bumper painted and installed by my local Ford dealership bodyshop and it was $357 if that gives you any idea.

I highly doubt you can find a good shop to do it for less then $300.

The price on mine also included them putting in a different set of headlights as well.

Hm, fascinating - I'll have to check out my local ford dealer then.

For a bumper, I'd expect $250-$350, maybe a little more if it's already painted (it takes longer and more labor hours).

One good thing to do when you get to a new paint shop i always ask them about their warranty. Places that do a good job will straight up tell you it's lifetime. Ask them what that covers: chips? cracks? peeling? fading? It will give you a good idea of how good of a job they do.

Definitely, I'll have to check into those places. I bet this garage guy that I was talking about doesn't have any warranty deals at all. So that is a good thing to know. Won't have the bumper done maybe until next week or so since this week is my last week of school - gotta love finals.
