My original Pypes m80s started rattling. So I cut them out, got some new Over axle pipes and cut in some mbrp resonators (cheap off amazon but high quality stainless). I clamped them all in with Tortite flared clamps. No leaks at all and easy removal if I ever need to take them off. Sound is perfect, deep deep muscular tone, no drone, no trumpeting, and thick borla s type tone out the back. FI, cams, LTs, offroad H, mbrp resonators, borla s types. It's about as perfect a 3v tone as I've heard.

Do you guys think it would be doable to install some mid-mounted resonators/mufflers on jack stands with some good band clamps from Summit? My exhaust guy is no longer in business and I don't want to get raped by one of the other shops in town - they are notoriously high. I figure I could cut a section out of each pipe and clamp the resonators in, staggering of course. I'm running stock manifolds and H pipe with Pypes cat-delete legs and Violators. I like the volume but the rasp is terrible around 2300 RPM. I can't stand it.

That's exactly what I will be doing, just cutting out a section of the pipe on jack stands and clamping them in. Did pretty much the same thing on my last mustang and they held up for years with no issue.

Sweet, thanks fellas. I saw some "muffler sealer" or something on Amazon while browsing for resonators, I figure it's just RTV. I could always glob some of that in place.

Spoke with the new owner of the exhaust shop, he's going to weld in the Summit glass packs I ordered next Friday. I'll let you know how it turns out.
