Looks great! lol you picked the same entertainment center my girlfriend and I are going to get, except we are getting it in white.

thanks man haha. after seeing this one online for $680 we had to take a drive down and buy it. we shopped around locally and found some for about $1400. it was worth the drive haha

finished up the entertainment center last night. great unit for the price and looks pretty solid. mounted the top bridge piece to the two towers using the supplied brackets. then secured the towers to the wall using the supplied straps for added safety. also need to patch up the holes left in the wall from the wall mount I had installed.

hoping the stone for the fireplace arrives sometime this week so I can start remodeling the fireplace this coming weekend

next up, which I've been wanting to redo since we moved in is replace the kitchen sink and faucets. back when we first bought the house I got this Moen kitchen faucet set on clearance at lowes. at $60 reduced from $178 I had to buy it. bad thing is, I'm far from a plumber.

I want to redo the old white sink also since it's beat up and discolored. I want a stainless sink but not sure how easy they are to keep clean. those of you with stainless sinks please chime in.

I have a question though. the current sink has four holes in it. the soap dispenser, faucet/lever/pullout hose combo, a plugged hole and the dishwasher thing in the far right.

i want to use all the stainless faucet kit I purchased which includes the soap dispenser, faucet, lever, and a pull out hose. do I buy a sink with 5 holes in it? one for each and the one in the far right for the dishwasher part? I'm about to head to lowes later and want to purchase a sink so I can finally get around to doing this. last time out I don't remember seeing a sink with 5 holes cut into it. I might just leave out the soap dispenser portion if I can only find a sink with 4 holes cut in it.

What exactly is the thing on the right?

The Stainless isn't bad to clean at all. Pick up some 'Bar Keeper's Best Friend' and it's cake. I love mine! Good buy with the faucet though!

honestly man I had no damn idea what that shit on the right was. we never run the dishwasher but last night my fiancé decided to run it just so it would self clean since we use it mainly to fill with dishes for drying. I guess it's connected to the dishwasher. not exactly sure what it is or does but it did shoot some water onto our counter when the dishwasher was running.

I believe they now have things you can connect the dishwasher drain to the sink drain under the sink instead of having it pour into the sink, that would open up a spare hole for the sprayer.
As far as SS durability, I love mine, I even wash car parts in it and it cleans right out (shhh dont tell my GF lmao)

I see you are curious what that thing is, its a drain for the dishwasher, they havent used those for quite a while lol

that's what I thought it was haha. damn I guess I should look into converting it into the one you're talking about. house was built in 2001 so I'm guessing it came with the house haha. I'll have a look around lowes later tonight and ask them about it. then I need to start reading up on how to swap in a new sink and faucet combo and pull out the current one

I did some research and it's an air gap and according to some CA house code it's mandatory for a dishwasher. they make some with stainless steel caps so it won't look as bad with the new faucet setup. I'm more than likely going to skip the soap dispenser and use one of the four holes on the sink for the air gap.

That sucks about your sink. I think they intended for people to buy a tap with the hose integrated into it. I have 4 holes as well, but one is for that diswasher vent and the hose pulls out of the tap.

Cutting another hole for the hose shouldn't be a big deal if you are buying another sink though.

I wanted to start putting in all the new Moen faucet set before attempting to pull out and install the sink. I started by dropping in the faucet and then got stuck. this nut- which is used to tighten up the hardware for the center main faucet didnt tighten all the way. I ran the nut all the way up the thread and the thread ran out on top leaving the bracket a little loose.

only thing I could think of was using this metal piece that I couldn't find anywhere else on the instructions to tighten everything up.

If you can't find anything in the directions than it might be for it. If it works, does it fit good on it? I don't see an issue with it.

What are you going to do with the "Air Gap"? Drill another hole?

it fit perfect with it and decided thats probably where it was supposed to be used for in case it was needed. got all the pieces put in now.

decide to omit the soap dispenser and use that hole for the air gap instead man. didn't want to try and make a hole anywhere and risk messing anything up. picked up a new air gap kit with a chrome cap since I went to lowes an two different home depots and couldn't find one with a brushed aluminum cap. this will have to do for now until I can find a new cap somewhere.

I'll start pulling the old stuff out and putting this one in after I eat some lunch.

It really isn't that hard to do. There's different ways to do it but the best way in my opinion is to use a step drill bit. Mark where you want the oil with a Sharpie, than put duct tape around the spot to protect the surface. Drill a pilot hole and than start using the step drill bit. Just use some drill bit lubricant and go slow. It'll come out perfect.
