Some more perspective, my 2007 BONE STOCK went 13.7 @ 101.67 MPH with 3.31 gears. That was with a crappy 2.1 60' and a not so ideal DA, albeit I'm sure not as bad as your DA. I know it had a 13.5 - 13.4 in it bone stock. I have since added some mods and am hoping to get to the track next time I go home.

What was your 60' on your bone stock 13.40 run?

1.99 pretty shitty. My car was only doing 1 wheel burnout due to shot clutch pack, and she just would not get out of the hole any quicker. Heavy car + horrible gearing + stock power + blown clutch pack = shitty 60' :D

I upgraded to 4.10s with carbon fiber clutch packs. She is now FUN!!

Didn't you get rid of 3v car a few yrs ago and pickup a termi, I seem to recall. Now back to a 3v?

Those are good times but not out of the ordinary with good da. I was running the same with stock exhaust, then added full exhaust cause the kids said it was to quite, lol. That got me another 3-4 mph and 2 tenths on the average with same da. 1pc, udp's, eh2o maybe got me another tenth. They simply arnt what they are cut out to be. Gears, tune, cai, cmdp's, and full exhaust are the most effective bang for buck. Heads - cams are not a simple 1-2 hr "bolton". and a complete mod to cfm flow. I would say your in the top 10% mod per mod....solid A.

If I didn't like driving the car on hwy and road coarse 4:30 gears would be installed...a good ~2 tenths almost. A guy down here at JMS was running a tune, cai, o/r x and 4:30s and running 12.4's at ease. with 4:10's 12.6.

My most proud pass down the track was a 12.42 @110mph witha +1400 da in May. That was a few months after running 12.2's after full exhaust and just before gas stations started the ethenol mix.

You get some -1000' or more da these cars absoluty come alive on the big end. You get that and a 12.4 is yours fer sure.

I run 12.30's -12.40's with ease with 3.31 gears and a few bolt-ons. All my mods are in my sig. Weight with me is 3450lbs. My PB is a 12.34@111 mph, i've just got to post my time slip and update my sig. Work has got me swamped right now. The key to my times are a GREAT tune from JPC Racing and GREAT driving. I have over 2000 passes under my belt with a stick shift.

Those are really really good times man. Definitely great driving. However, How did you get 323rwhp and 357rwtq? I dont think I am anywhere close to those numbers, I say I am at 300rwhp and 320~rwtq. Sounds like your tuner squeezed everything out of that engine.

It must be those 3:31 gears. You would think with that much power he would be trapping higher mph and only using 3 gears instead of four.

So why do everyone go 4.10s?
by the way what gear should I end my quarter mile if I have 3.55?

3rd or 4th?

Because they will accelerate the car faster. What I was referencing to was the higher HP via dyno with the 3.31's. If he were to add 4.10's and dyno again the reading would show lower than with the 3.31's.

As for your trap RPM I would need to know your tire diameter.

So, gears affect dyno numbers now???

They always have been, to some small degree. Not enough to really matter. Some ratios are more efficient in operation. 3.31 gears will deliver slightly higher results than say 4.10's on the same dyno, on the same car, under the same testing conditions, with the proper correction factors applied.

it doesn't mean the car is actually making less power, its just the way the dyno reads it.
