Guys... You both are quite right in all that's said... High gear equates to faster gear change
It also equates to higher trap rev... But I'm not going to race 1/4 mile. My local track is 1/8th.
I will be gear changing manually not auto,
Iv also discounted 4.10 as a option due to the transmission 1st gear ratio... I'm heading 3.73

Tjis is my first modern car.. I chose a v6 because the 4lt v8 is poor... B
Even with lots of money thrown at it.. And the 4.6 and 5.0 are very strong prices especially when you want to throw it at a track..
Iv raced big an small block v8s. I ran the fastest snall block non power added stock cubic inch 340, iron heads and block,

That had 4.10s but the trans was a cope built unit with lots of mods

I digress... I will continue to study this s197.. I love the dam thing
