So yesterday I spent the day taking a lot of stuff apart. There was a problem with the original blower I bought so I had to wait to find another. JDM has sense shipped out the new blower and should be here in the next week. So in the mean time I prepped everything and did other things that would be needed.

I started the day off by removing the CDC Shaker and CAI. I had presold those items and the buyer was coming by to get them. Once that business was taken care of I then made the goal to get the CAMS and phase limiters installed.

Everything went pretty straight forward and was not as hard as expected. Just take your time if you have never done it before and it will all make sense once you get in there.

Here are some pics of the progress. This not a DIY thread nor was I going to make one. There are plenty out there that are helpful and a waste of my time to mimic just another. But if you have questions about anything along the way please feel free to ask.

I found that by cutting a hole in the hood allowed me to hook a light up. Seemed more practical to cut a hole than to take off the hood.

Alot of wires disconnected and fuel line removed.

I removed the intake now because it allowed more room for the cam install and since it will come off for the Saleen Blower then why not now...

Removed Cam Covers.

I tried to use the compressor tool but it wouldn't compress the springs far enough and I got mad so I didn't use it. I just back the bearing caps off slowly like half the other guys.

Bearing caps off.

Phaser and Sprocket removed awaiting the COMP Phase limiters.

New Mutha Thumpers installed...

Temp cam covers... just to keep dirt out.

I have never installed a Saleen S/C with a Super Shaker. Does the Super Shaker still require the vacuum line upgrade kit or did Jim III already hook you up with that? Why did you choose the Comp Mutha Thumper Cams 127020 - just asking? What gear/tire diameter combination are you planning on using? Did your pulley kit include a V10 diameter water pump pulley to improve belt wrap on the S/C? What gaskets are you planning on using with your headers? The gaskets supplied by Kooks will fail. Most usually use new OEM gaskets.

PS: I'm in Lakeland so if you have any questions PM me with your info

JimIII did put on the kit before sending it out and knew I would be running a Supershaker conversion so I would guess yes.

I chose the mutha thumpers for sound. (Yes I am man enough to say that's why I got them) :)

I have 4:10 gears, and tires are 255/45 and 285/40.

Still waiting to find a good deal on some used ones, if anything I will grab some Russell's right before the brake install.

I edited my original post to include 2 more questions about the water pump pulley and header gaskets.

Did your pulley kit include a V10 diameter water pump pulley to improve belt wrap on the S/C? What gaskets are you planning on using with your headers? The gaskets supplied by Kooks will fail. Most usually use new OEM gaskets.

Stock size pulley... I have a BGG Tensioner arm, I need to edit my post to include that. But the 8 Rib will take care of slip.

I plan on using the stock header gaskets.

Does the BGG kit include a 90mm idler pulley at the location next to the P/S pump. This will improve belt wrap in the crankshaft pulley.

Not questioning any of your decisions but I have already been though just about every belt/pulley combination there is and just don't want you to have any of the headaches that I've already encountered.

Not sure, but I do know that the 8 rib kit alone will eliminate the belt slip...

I also see your using Prothane mounts. Those look like the std. height mounts. Does the Saleen S/C w/Super Shaker require the "lowered" Prothane mounts?

No the lower mounts would be bad. It would cause the scoop to sit to low in the hood.
