A YEAR?!?!?!?!?!?!?

:wtf1:

Not expecting to last that much longer or something? It'll probably be more like 6 months or so. Summer vacation is over in August and I go back to school; which means less cash... Unless you don't care about a fucking 5.4 just sitting around, which im sure you'd just love taking up space in your garage while I wait on funds.

EDIT: First order of business is to just get the motor in and running PERFECTLY; no built motor until the swap is done and running right.

Remember, us young bucks dont have AARP and SS checks coming in yet. Gotta save our allowance and ice cream money up before we can go splurging on built motors.

I'll take a break from my banter for an UPDATE. Knocked a lot out today:

- Swapped oil pans out, waiting on the GT500 pick up tube and windage tray.
- Cleaned up the block
- Got the motor pretty much stripped down
- Started fabbing up the intake manifold on the motor
- Drank some beer
- Got a free FPR
- Ordered more AN fittings.
- Started planning my cooling system
- Got 2 free 20AN fittings from SW's record setting Supra, considering buying AN line to do my upper radiator hose for that extra touch of "ballerness"

Sorry but all of my build pics will probably be with my iphone camera. So... deal with it.

+1 Did you grind off the rivets on the driver side and remove the stuff or just cut off the tube? I was planning on tapping mine since I can't weld for shit.

Thanks

I've been considering this for my valve covers as well. Should I make note that they are made of magnesium to the welder beforehand? Does anyone know what one should expect in terms of cost to have something like that done?

Good looking project so far!

I took a 90 cut off wheel and cut it carefully, so the tube mated up perfectly with the -12 fitting; and yes, tell your welder they are magnesium covers.

Some people forget this stuff.

Heck my 5.4 got side tracked when my wife got pregnant the same month I bought my junkyard 5.4. How does that happen?

What about "seasoned" or "ripe" jokes; those add to the total as well? hahaha

Oh man, I needed a laugh today...

Will you be selling one of those engines once you have it finalized?

Old dogs. Young kids. Whatever. At least we dont have to go back to school in the autumn!

hahaha, thats low. Way to remind me that my summers already halfway over.

Well, I had originally planned on putting a 300 shot on it for a hailmary pass at the worlds most powerful stock motor once my other one was built out...

But if your interested I might change my mind.

Wouldn't matter. You'd change your mind before you could finish the Paypal transaction.
