nice...looks damn sexy sitting in the engine compartment like that. almost like Ford should have offered it up that way

what are your RWHP/RWTQ goals with this motor and the stock internals...for now? and will that rear axle you have hold the power?

I put a built 8.8 under the car, so it should be good for now. I'm shooting for 375 with heads, cams and full boltons and then put a 100 shot on top. But for now I'll be happy with 280 wheel. Cars going in with stock exhaust and aid intake. As for the hood, it won't fit.

I'm thinking about putting on a stock GT hood scoop and cutting the hood underneath it.

My friend and I built a motor like this (similar mostly all bolt ons and stock intake)on a F150. My guess is around 345 rwhp up high on the rpm's. tq might be around 360. We didn't have all the fancy coatings and putting on the juice (also a 100 shot) it made that big truck come alive pretty well never dynoed with the juice.

Looks good caint wait to here how she does on the rollers.

Yea we've got a dyno so as soon as the motor starts I'm pulling it put of the lift bay and into the dyno room to "break" the motor in. That's great news about the other f150 motor, I'm excited.

Am I the first teenager to swap a 5.4 into an S197?

Probably the first teen yea. I am actually picking up a 5.4 32v Navigator motor that I will be building and dumping in mine, dont know how long it will be though, in the process of buying a house so the motor might do a lot of sitting in my garage. I will definitely be running back through this thread trying to pick up any info I can get.
Car looks badass, especially with the sheet metal intake just perched up top.

Haha yea mike the calls should be done for now. And those fittings were awesome, that 45* Russell fitting saved my ass on the fuel feed line.

Picking up a pilot bearing today and shooting to have the clutch, trans and drive shaft on tonight so I can start fanning on the drivers side manifold.

Quick question on the exhaust. Since the 5.4 is taller and wider than the 4.6 even using the stock 4.6 manifolds wont that cause clearance issues?

By the way this is a great was to own a gt500 clone cheap. Now it wont be everything like the 500 but pick up a wrecked v6 and do a transplant and have one hell of a fun car very cheap. I do a lot of old school stuff and haven't really touched inside of these mod motors. the skills you are acquiring will be priceless for your age. Not just in cars but as for common knowledge on a lot of items.

Yea, the passenger side exhaust manifold looks to be fine, but the drivers side is going to need... massaging.

And yea, this is a HUGE learning experience.

Almost done, going on 3 hours of grinding on the drivers side
manifold and it still isn't done.

The hardest part of the swap SO far has been the exhaust. Cast iron blows.

Oh, and the stock hood doesnt fit. yay.

Could you cut a hole in the hood and but one of those stock hood scoops on?
