I have settled on installing a Saleen supercharger in my car and plan on using Brenspeed for the install - has anybody used them before? How was the experience? Would you recommend them again? Any issues you encountered? Please provide feedback as this is the only mod I have not done myself and it is a significant investment and I would appreciate your input.

I had Brenspeed do my Saleen S/C. I had originally planned to do cams, delte plates, throttle body, header, etc but then said BLOW ME!
They did an excellent job and they are very helpful. I originally bought the Stage 1 kit but it wasn't enough so I upgraded to the Stage 3 where I am comfortable. Their standard tune is very safe and had it checked on a dyno after I installed the Stage 3 parts myself.
I can't say enough good about those guys and that is why I keep ordering from them.

Honestly, the saleen is the last sc I would go with. With the edlebrock numbers coming back so good, good deals on used whipples, and now the techno that came out, there are way better choices out there. I believe Mike@Powerhouse has a super good deal going on an Edlebrock now and also free installation. Just thowing my .02 cents in. Either way, you are going to have alot of fun with your car when it's done. I don't know much about Breenspeed.

i had a saleen for about a year and did enjoy it. I would not go with them now due to the turmoil with them i would steer clear. i know SS stepped up but i would consider another personally.

I have to agree with Kimmer and Frank.
I have one on the Roush, and it's been
a great blower, and will stay on this car.

There were limited choices when I got
mine.If I were to do it over,I would not
go with the saleen. You want a blower
that can grow with you,the saleen can
only go soo far,IMHO.The design is hot
but the intake tract just plain ole sucks.

I beg to differ. i run 10s on a stock long block with my saleen. Thier are those that have achieved high 9s on the saleen as well. I know thier are other choices out thier, but i wouldnt say better unless were talking about 2.8s and bigger. Ive been very happy with my blower.... if i had to do it again i prob would.. 10s is moving and so is low elevens. When your dealing with a 2.3 blower all the 2.3s are the same imo.

To me its like what intake should i buy, what upper, what lower, what shifter.....etc etc. they all do the same thing and in reality ad the same level of performance when averaged over a large amount of cars. Do what your heart wants and be happy. If you forsee yourself wanting to go with a trailered or straight performance car set up. them go big. 3.0 size blowers or more

My brother has a saleen s/c on his 07 and he told me saleen got bought out and were not honoring any of their warantees. That could just be a rumor though.

Saleen and Roushchargers are the bottom of the barrel if you're looking to make power.

It can be done.... But it can be done so much easier with other kits

and i aslo disagree. i make 521 on 11.5 roughly lbs of boost. i see time and time again whille 2.3 and smaller blowers all consistantly making the same power. the only difference ive seen is the end capability maybe its all in the tuner

We have also. But you're spinning the hell out of that blower, most of the time faster than what the blower should really be spun at.

The IAT's on a Saleen at the speed are going to be ridiculous as well... Even when you upgrade the heat exchanger.

For the cost you have to put into a Saleen setup, you can buy a Kenne Bell, Whipple or even a Procharger or Vortech. Do a simple pulley swap, keep the blower's impeller RPM at a safe level and make more horsepower.

I have to agree with Kimmer and the rest there are just too many choices available today that are much better than the Saleen. There are a couple of shops that are offering free install on the Techco also where are you located?

i have awesome intelt temps with the factory heat exchanger, however i have relocted the coolant resevior to the truck and some other stuff.

But at the end of the day boost for boost the power will close on any 2.3. Now obviously im going against the masses, but i always love beating you saleen haters at the track

What are your long term power goals? Drivability?

This car is my daily driver so I have to keep it reliable and somewhat safe. I heard that Brenspeed does a good job with the tuning on the Saleen's and since the engine is still stock I am O.K. with the expected horsepower/torque numbers - but I said this when I originally purchased the car too. Long term goal is to eventually rebuild the engine with forged internals before going for more boost - I am going for the Stage 2 package with the Saleen CAI. I just finished doing the suspension mods and upgraded the braking to get ready for the supercharger.
