need help fast !! key wont turn in ignition

ok so i finnally finished hooking up my nitrous kit . and then i put my 18's on the car i jacked up one side and swapped them.and then jacked up the other side and swapped them. so i go to start the car and i put the key in and it wont turn!! wtf so i jack the front up and try to wiggle the front tires as my wife try's to turn the wheel and no go! i figured it was the wheel lock? i cant figure it out. i got rough with it at as well and still nothing . so i tried to unhook the battery and that didnt help. the only thing i notice is the security light is flashing but i think that may be normal? hopefully someone can help i would greatly appreciate it .

sounds like steering wheel lock, just lower it back down and hold the brake while you jiggle the steering wheel and turn the key, u will feel it when it unlocks. can take alittle effort sometimes

yeah no dice . i lowered it down hit the brakes and wiggle the shit out of the wheel!! i tried to force it side to side and pretty much tried every which way to release this god damn thing . it there any other way to release it like under the dash ?

not that i know of i just know the key has to be in the ignition and u have to try and turn the key as u jiggle the steering wheel try having the clutch in and ebrake on or off, that sucks man hope u figure it out

steering shaft!!! are the tires moving when you jiggle the steering wheel? move it hard and try to move the key to the on position...

yeah the wheel is definetly locked . when i wiggle the wheel the tires move ever so slightly .

yeah i tried my original keys and my spare keys. could the lock be jammed or something? i am going to mess with it in the morning . this is really pissing me off!

Alright, here is my experience from working at a locksmith: take it to the dealer. If you can't get it to unlock from whipping the shit out of the steering wheel then the side bar inside the lock cylinder itself is jammed and they will need to replace the cylinder. I will warn you however that by doing this you will either have to get new keys or pY to get the cylinder keyed to your original keys. It will be expensive and you might have to live with 2 keys one for the door and one for the ignition. The dealer will have to program any new keys to the car, so even more money. Oh, and my final 2cents: don't take it to a locksmith. If they mess up programming the keys they will have to take in to the dealer to reflash the computer anyway.

fixed it

so i just went out and tried it and nothing . so for the hell of it thinking maybe something is in there pocket lint or something. so i heated the key up a little with a lighter and i slide the key in and bam the thing works mint . so i dont know what the hell that was all about i better keep a eye on it . well thanks for the input guys . hopefully this doesnt happen again!! now its time go for my first nitrous ride!!!!

The grease that they pack into the locks from the factory gummed up the mechanisim. Go to the parts store and get a can of spray silicone lubricant. Spray into the cylinder and make a hell of a mess unroll it comes out clean. This will clean it out and should fix hour problem.
