Just getting around to hooking up my Aeroforce wideband to be capable of putting out an analog signal to my Xcal4 and datalogging onto my laptop for tune revisions with VMP. This is my first foray into the Xcal4 and Livelink Gen 2, as I was rocking an Xcal2 up until a few weeks ago.

VMP has a list of PID's that need to be logged. Problem is, four of them appear nowhere in the list. Livelink has communicated with the car and pulled all the available PID's, but a few of the ones I need are simply not there:

1) There is no PID for "returnless fuel pump duty cycle". The closest one I found is "Fuel pump duty cycle" and off to the side it says "duty cycle for modulated fuel pump";

2) There is no "injector duty cycle" anywhere. WTF!

3) There is no "MAF voltage" - only MAF in grams/second and MAF counts;

4) There is no "returnless fuel pump pressure" - only "fuel rail pressure" in PSI

Any idea WTH is going on?

One last question: Once you create a config file and save it, is there any way to load that file, add PID's to it, and save that new file? Or, do you have to start from scratch every time you want to modify your config file?

1. Returnless FPDC is a DMR , click that one .
2. I believe this is pressure drop across fuel injectors. There are 2 pids for it .
3. Is MAF counts
4. I used short term trim bank 1 and 2 .

To save all you do is open gen2 click on " i want to create data log config. file " , then when you have your DMR'S / PIDS loaded click on the radio button in the lower right corner ( configure datalog ) file name will be config1 but you can name it whatever . Make sure the file extension is .cf4 .
i can send you my config file for you to look at or use if ya like .

Appreciate the response. VMP's logging instructions specifically say, in capital, bold, underlined letters, not to log DMR's, only PID's. And the PID's I listed below are missing, so I'm not sure what the hell to do.

Alright, couple of updates after doing a remote session with a very nice guy from SCT:

1) There is no "returnless fuel pump duty cycle" in Gen 2. It is a PID that's labelled "Fuel pump duty cycle" and off to the side it says "duty cycle for modulated fuel pump". This will give you a 1/2 value, e.g. when it says ".20" it means you are at 40% duty cycle. Another option is to pic a DMR that says "Returnless fuel pump duty cycle" that reads full value;

2) There is no PID for "injector duty cycle," only a DMR. This was available as a PID in Livelink 6.5, and I showed him the datalogs to prove it. SCT was unaware of this, and said it will roll out an update to fix this problem;

3) For "MAF Voltage" you must pick the PID caled "MAF Counts" and then off to the right, under the column titled "Units" use the drop down box to change the units to "Volts";

4) There is no "returnless fuel pump pressure" and there never will be. The only thing you can pick is a PID called "Fuel rail pressure."

This has all been very confusing, particularly since VMP's logging instructions say DO NOT USE DMR's, ONLY PID's.
