Kick ass. One question though...

You mentioned leaving on the spray to get it going harder out of the hole. I think that is where you are lacking for the 8 sec slip right now. Honestly, even on spray, your first 330' aren't that great (for what you have anyway)

I mean with the 2.8, you should be able to 60' in the 1.3x's on blower alone. On the whipple, I was running a 1.3x 60' and a 3.89 330' before I even touched the juice when I netted a 9.67

Your big end is ridiculous. I just think you need to dial in the launch and short time and you have an 8.8x right now. You have a TB, right? On that sportsman tree, I was surprised you weren't standing on the money button as soon as the first bulb lit. Seems like you waited green before you even started loading it? What is your weight?

Still incredibly awesome either way and big time congrats!...:beerchug2:

I just looked up your 9.672 pass. It was a 1.42 60’ and wasn’t that with those big Goodyear tires? Your 330 was 4.046 and your 1/8th was 6.2 at 113mph.

Perhaps you were talking about your 1/8th mile pass? It had a 1.377 60’ and a 3.974 330’ and ended with a 6.173 @ 110mph? Then again with those tires you probably didn't need to worry about blowing them off?

There’s quite a bit of difference in my setup and what you were running. Different trans, different T/C, different tire, different motor, most likely different weights and weight distribution. Perhaps if you had a chance to really turn yours up before the blower taking a crap we might have a better comparison.

Finally, it was a test-n-tune. It wasn’t a race. I know what the transbrake button is and I know how to use it just fine. If you watch the video it was a single pass, no need to be in any hurry at all.

What size were those things anyways?

My mistake, it was the 1/8 pass I was looking at but the numbers were comparable to the 1/4 as well. That particular pass (9.67) was when I was wadding the tires pretty bad (the very next pass is when I bent the rim) I was running 11 psi and when I went to 14.5 psi - it was 60' in the 1.36 range. I didn't mean it negatively, Eric...:beerchug2:

Not 'rushing in' - it just seemed to me in the video like you loaded it up right about the time the green light lit. When I am on a sportsman tree, I floor it and start loading as soon as the first bulb lights (1st bulb - not stage bulbs) and then the car is usually fully loaded by the 3rd to take off - that is all I meant. It seemed to me on that pass the car wasn't fully loaded before you took off is all. The goodyears are 29x12-15

What is your weight and gear?

If you listen the car squeeled coming out of the burnout. I didn't get it back into nuetral fast enough (I've had to change my routine over the last month). I was concerned the drag had loosened the blower drive. I was coming up on the TC slowly and watching the boost gauge to make sure I hit the correct boost. When I saw what I needed to see on the boost gauge I glanced over the light was green and I went.

If you listen closely the motor changed tones right before I left. That usuualy is what I'm listening for when I launch the car normaly.

Since there wasn't anyone in the lane next to me there was no reason to waste a pass. I just took my time and made sure the car was right before I left.

The car weighs 3900 with driver and has 3.55 gears.

That explains the vid sound... It would have been awesome if you could have gotten another pass....:thumb:

I didn't know you had that gear. I thought you had 3.73's - now it makes more sense (and more impressive short times)...:beerchug2:

You are on a 28x11 MT, right?

It's way to violent with 373's and the true 10.5's. It also limits how much I can throw at it out of the hole. The track was recently resurfaced here and prep has been hit or miss with the track trying different compounds (VP and VHT sometimes both at the same time:tdown:). Add that to the fact I still don't have my new T/C with the lower stall and I'm pretty much stuck with 3.55's right now.

wow...I'm seriously impressed. Not too many (S197's) on a 10.5 - I'll tell you that...:thumb: excellent job!

Thank you!:beerchug2:

We originally set up the car to run the tires off of Richard's SSO car since he can only make 4 to 5 passes on them. I'd get his tires and make 4 or 5 passes on them. Hence an endless supply of tires.

That worked fine when we were making around 700 rwhp. Not so much now. Car whips the side walls to badly to use his take off's anymore.

Watching this car run is a thing of beauty. Love the way it tracks so straight. Good luck, looks like you have it dialed in for the 8 second pass now.

Thanks guys! We'll be going over the car today and tomorrow getting ready for this weekend. Hopefully we can go after that 8 if the weather and the track work with us! LOL

If not it'll be a little bit as we have a race at an 1/8th mile track on the 25th. I got to defend my points lead at Strictly Street and hurts some Camaro boy's feelings!:evillaugh:

Well you know how it goes, anything can happen!

However, I like my chances!:beerdrink: Almost as much as I like cracking Chevy's.........Almost!

If I get far enough ahead in the points I might try one of the other classes for a race.

Texas 8.5 outlaw, you have to run on a 26/8.5 tire. The best times I saw were in the 6.20 range. I think I could hang with those boys and it might be fun!

Aaawww shit. Sounds like a nice place for the Fairmont. :evillaugh:

Either that class or the 275 Outlaw Radial deal they're trying to get going up near Dallas.

What organization is behind the Strictly Street and Outlaw 8.5 deal? Are they exclusively at HMP or what?

Both classes are that TXDRL. I haven't seen a lot of info on upcoming races, just dates. Heck, they all may be at HMP!?!?!

I think that 8.5 class was based on a class out of Dallas.

Well It's either TXDRL or wait for the Clash or Maxximum Impact to get going and run index. You know how I love index racing...........

I looked them up last night at the house. Damn Joe Golden crap. I might be able to run them as long as you guys keep him away from me and my car.

Looks like 8.5 has a record of 5.93 or so. Good deal for the Fairmont to run in. Strictly Street seems to be yours. I can run the Mustang in that one but you're still going to win it. What's the payout on these (if any)?

Joe has been pretty much nonexistent in the pit area so far. He's been busy anouncing the race and up on the line. I imagine he'd leave you alone.

Well they must have had someone make a hit and I wasn't aware of it. 5.93 is pretty good for that tire!

Hey you can run Strictly Street! I could use someone to run blocker! Plenty enough camaro's to go around for all of us to crack a couple! Besides, Richard keeps redlighting! LOL In his defense his transbrake was jacked up.....I guess I'll give him another chance!

Is there any payout on this deal?

Strictly Street pays $500.00 to win and $200 for runnerup. No big cash or anything, but money did change hands.

Not sure what 8.5 paid.

I know all the winners got paid but the final race (don't remember what class) where the drivers decided to go home because they didn't want to race after/or wait for Moyer's car to get cleaned up. I believe it was stated the money would roll to the next race for that class.
