Hello all, I’m here gathering information for a car that was supposed to be my winter beater. Winter beater turned into winter project. I bought a 2006 v6 mustang with a tanked motor. Was supposed to be an easy fix but not so much. So why not 4.6 swap it. So that’s what I’m doing...

Why don’t I just buy a GT? Because I already did that and it was too easy.

Yeah I’d like to check it out for sure. I’ve never hung around the strips or dragged my own car....well legally that is... but I’ve been wanting to get out there and give it a whirl. I’m big into dirt and road. We have our own little strip here at the brewery, but I haven’t run any of the guys yet.

Lancaster is an 1/8 mile track (barf). When did Lancaster become New York International Raceway Park? NYIRP was in Leicester, NY (my hometown) for like 20-25 years and it changed hands a couple years back and is now Empire Dragway. Empire is 1/4 mile.

Vito Antonicelli and Mike Swinarski. I am pretty sure Vito owned Empire when the name NYIRP was used there. Are you sure Empire is 1/4 mile? I thought they started racing most events 1/8th mile a few years ago.

Started off being called Empire Dragway then Dragway 36, Motorcity Raceway, NYIRP and back to Empire Dragway 1/4 mile.

FYI a 5.3/etc goes with a plate from bob hanlon, factory v8 trans (tr3650,) and driveline, etc..

ton more power and tq, way less money.

Empire is still 1/4 mile. They do run 1/8 mile events from time to time and a bunch of it last year was 1/8 mile (like most of it). I know exactly zero people that went to race the 1/8 mile races. I personally hate 1/8 mile drag racing. Won't do it. Won't watch it. I'm waiting to see if this year reverts to real 1/4 mile drag racing or stays pretend racing. And I'm sure I just pissed someone off with my 1/8 mile racing opinion. Too bad.

Welcome, I'm originally from Lockport which is closer to Niagara Falls and Buffalo. At any rate, despite relocating to Pittsburgh, PA nearly 39 years ago, I've always remained a die-hard Bills and Sabres fan.
