New P.B at Fontana

A group of us went to Fontana for street legal racing. It was damn hot, so we knew we wouldn't get decent times until the weather cooled a little. Also I couldn't hook that well. My 60' are usually in the 1.8s Here is my best run of the day, which is also my P.B My goal was to get into the 13.5s.

60' 1.9000
1/8 8.681 at 79.92
1/4 13.490 at 103.18

Keep in mind that the temp was 90 and the D/A was 3584. My corrected time was 12.894 at 107.95 (I know excuse)

Also I raced a 2010 Camaro SS. Funny thing is he put a gopro camera on his car. I guess he filmed my tail lights as I ran a 13.765 to his 14.277.

A couple of 2011 5.0s were there. On street tires they were running 14s but on on drag radials they were at 12.9s

My best 60' was 1.88 but I also had my worse E.T of the day at 13.91...forgot to shift to 2nd.

Track conditions were okay at best. I couldn't do a good burnout. The car would begin to go sideways while doing the burnout.

ok cool. i didn't realise you had that much done to your car for the most part it looks bone stock. great numbers if i might add especially coming from that pos track at fontucky, i can't for the love of god get any traction.

On street tires it's nearly impossible to get traction. 2.2 to 2.4 60' and low 14s are the norm for S197s and even SRT8s and Camaro SSs on street tires.

yeah but problem with that is i have no where to keep them when driving on normal stret tires.

yeah i think the best 60' i've gotten there has been 2.0-2.2ish and a 14.0xx 1/4 time. but at irwindale i can easily cut a 1.9 60' and get a 8.723 1/8th

yeah fontana has some really shity track prep for the sreet legal days they hold their but you know all the sudden for psca they can prep it decently

Ya two of my buddies went (a black '97 cobra blown and a DSG 86 GT built). They said it sucked bad. It was super hot and crowded and like you said they couldn't hook that well. I was about to go but the weather threw me away from going. I'll stick to going to Irwindale for now...
