I can't seem to get a straight answer on the fluid.. some people swear by Royal purple synchromax and others say dextron III. Can anyone clarify the differences ? What does ford recommend. I don't want to damage my trans by using the wrong type of fluid.
Ford's manual will say Mercon V ATF, and there is a Tremec memo that mentions Dexron III (which is a non-synthetic Mercon). I doubt you will hurt the trans though by running Synchromesh. People have been running them since they first started experiencing issues with the 3650.

Like 17 people have told you to use Syncromesh, I would say that is a clear answer.
I am not a fan of RP, I would use Castrol Syncromesh as it is the original fluid manufacturer for GM.

Red Line MTL is a great fluid for the tranny and meets all specs of both Ford and Tremec.

Don't sweat the spark plugs. They should go 100k on a stock engine.

If you want to pull them out use an impact gun to remove them.... Totally serious... There are many posts and articles out there about this. I've done it on 3 different vehicles with no breakage. When you re-install them use a torque wrench as suggested. If I remember correctly it's something like 159 in lbs... Which converts to about 13 ft lbs. I've always used 15 ft lbs and been fine.

You might start with a custom tune and a handheld tuner for your first mod... You'll need it for future mods anyway... So you might as well get one. SCT tuners are very widely used.

They must be done before 100k to raise the chances or removal without breakage.

Actually Ford specs 25 ft lbs for the plugs. Initially I under torqued my plugs causing the car to run like garbage. When I torqued them to spec it ran like a top.
