I'm going to camp out with my friends and try to score one.

Also, did you preorder from a specific store or from Gamestop.com?

Pre-ordered mine last week along with Halo and Ryse: Son of Rome!!!

I don't see why everyone is bitching about the used games. They never said you can't, it is up to the PUBLISHER, not Microsoft. Also, I'm sure we will all keep our 360s, so why the fuck is everyone complaining about not being able to play OLD games on a NEW system? I don't buy a new system to play outdated games. That's like buying a 3V or 5.0 and swapping a 2V into it... Lastly, game disc. I really couldn't care any less. I perfer digital, and I hate swapping disc because I don't want to get up LOL. You will be able to save them directly to your Xbox One. It's the new age of gaming boys. I don't like Microsoft but they are setting the standards for the future generations. Sony can't innovate, they simply give free crappy service and same platform with updated graphics, cool. Y'all keep your crappy Sony servers.

THANK YOU RYAN!! The used game/DRM is 100% in the publishers control. Sony doesn't have shit for control over it.

And I cant wait for all the pitchfork wielding nut-swinging fan boys to get all bent when a 3rd party publisher sticks them with DRM. It really felt like this years E3 was more BS postering by Sony and MS being transparent than anything. I can't believe how much misinformation is out there about the XB1. I'm personally excited the direction they are pushing digital content libraries. I cant share my steam library with anyone...but I will my XB1. Here is a great link that really clears up some misinformation. Feel free to spread it.

I personally have em both Preordered on my Best Buy CC since its my only credit card and was sitting at Zero. I preordered both as the links went live and figured I'd decide which to keep later knowing damn well I'll probably keep em both.

you cant share games on xbox one. you have to connect to the internet once every 24 hours OR YOUR GAMES WONT WORK! that to me is some bullshit. so if your internet goes down for a few days it becomes a paperweight. I personally love the 360 and dont really care for the PS3, but microsoft wont be able to compete if they keep this up.

If they wanna see me hang around gaming in my boxers and occasionally tug the monkey, have at it.

Sigh... Click the reddit link I posted...

In the 9 years I've had my xbox... It has been connected to the Internet near 100%. My wife and I would skimp on groceries before missing an Internet payment. Even when we moved, simply letting the cable company know when and where we were moving we were never disconnected. Sharing games with close friends will be easier than ever. Yes,even easier than on ps4. That joke video had an asterisk added to it at a small press conference. It said this easy sharing was true only for first party titles, but third party publishers will do what they want. On xb1, If I have installed game to my system, and I'm not playing it, a close friend could go right into my library and play it...

Face it. The market is moving forward. Steam is making good money with its discless purely digital service. Others want in.

Seriously.... Click the reddit link. It clears up a lot of the misinformation floating around the Internet.

Exactly. I can't wait for some more epic Wolf Pack parties when I get back!

This.

I also preordered through Best Buy.

:thud: You are sorely misinformed. You can share your game with up to 10 people whose email you put on your share list. Simple as that.

Sony is about to be in a world of hurt.

^ This. And occasionally me giving the Mrs. a hot beef injection.

All this.

I still can't decide which system to get. Haven't read up too much about each one but I'll have to check out that link posted above.

Ill probably lean towards the XBOX One. I love the XBOX controller to much to switch haha. I don't buy used games, I don't trade games in, I don't borrow games, and Im always on Xbox live.

The part about being connected to internet everyday, does that mean we have to use the system everyday or once you set it up with internet its good to go?

Honestly, don't bother reading up on the system specs/differences. There is so much bad information out there, even on "trusted" gaming sites. Let the games decide for you. See if there are any must have exclusive titles. For me it was Ryse, Titanfall, the promise of another Halo, and the exclusive Halo TV series. I also see BF4 able to do a bit more on XB1 with the cloud computing assistance.

Don't get me wrong guys, I will still be getting an xbox one. These things most likely won't affect me very much. But sometimes I like to take my xbox to my rents vacation house and they don't have internet. Sometimes people get hit with storms or equipment fails and the ISP can't get out for a few days. Most of us are privledged enough to be in areas where this doesn't happen, but just because it doesn't affect me directly doesn't mean I can't disagree with the way they are doing things. I have not heard one other thing about the share with 10 other people thing, but if you want to sell your games on CL your SOL. Microsoft has done a poor job of explaining any of the real benefits of these "features".

I am now going to click the reddit link.

Edit: The whole sharing games with 10 friends is awesome. That should have been one of the highlights of the reveal. The whole kinnect thing doesn't bother me at all. I did not know that there was discless play from a hard copy of the game, but now that I know that the always connected makes sense. But, they make a good point in the article that if you should be able to play offline if you have the disc, which makes sense to me and will hopefully be implemented.

Edit 2: I'm curious to see how often you can change your "inner circle" I'm sure its going to be something like you can delete any time but must wait a certain amount of time to add another after you delete someone.

Preordered my Xbox One on Friday from Gamestop. Anyone else?
Xbox One and PS4 both pre-ordered on Amazon.

Sony can't innovate, they simply give free crappy service and same platform with updated graphics, cool. Y'all keep your crappy Sony servers.
Online play on PS4 will require a subscription to PS+ ($50 a year) now as well. Hopefully that will push them to upgrade their servers since anytime I download something from PSN on the PS3 it takes FORFUCKINGEVER!

I cant share my steam library with anyone...but I will my XB1.
That might be changing going off of what was found in the recent Steam beta:

The main difference with the comparison to Steam is that when Steam came into existence the retail market for PC games was all but dead whereas the retail market for console games is far from it.

In addition, Steam has some crazy sales where you can buy games for 50% to 90% off. As of now all Xbox One games regardless if bought at retail (disk) or digitally will be $60. I think a lot of folks would have been more receptive to the whole used games/not able to sell on eBay thing if digital games were say $40. Hopefully we start seeing some big discounts on games later on like Steam does.

The part about being connected to internet everyday, does that mean we have to use the system everyday or once you set it up with internet its good to go?
It uses Connected Standby, so it's kind of like your smartphone receiving email while you're not actively using it. It is in a low power state and sends a heartbeat to the Xbox Live servers to authenticate.

One of the big things that I didn't see in the Reddit write-up was that all multiplayer games will use dedicated servers now (no more P2P). This is a big deal for someone like me who lives in the middle of nowhere and doesn't have access to the Verizon/Comcast 50Mbps connections.

In the end videogames are one of my biggest hobbies, so I'll go wherever the games I want to play are. I just hope that I'll still be able to use my Fanatec wheel with Forza 5 and not have to buy yet another wheel (still wish I could use my G27 on the 360).

My biggest gripe is having to buy yet another headset. I'm bummed my fancy Turtle Beach I bought six months ago wont be compatible with the new xb1.
