Well I had a build thread and its time for a Re-Build one.... As some of you may know, my forged 302 stroker det'ed to shit while at the track on 9/18.... Since then Ive thought about and weighed out a bunch of options. These ranged from rebuilding it, to a brand new 5.0, to a brand new GT500!, a used GT500, to even a new F150 truck..... Currently, I am the legal process of buying my first house so I decided it would be best to just rebuild the car... even better this time...
After I could stomach up looking at the motor for more then afew mins, I examined the det divets.... Out of the 3 bad cyclinders, 2 look to be way past going max over bore of .020.... Im 95% sure the blockis scrap metal at this point.... So back to basic's, I still have my stock block in near perfect shape, 17k miles on it. Next saturday, both blocks are going down to JDM, in which the stock block will be built up....
New plans
- New 302 stroker
- BBR Stage 2 blower cams with lock outs
- Upgraded valve springs.... JDM is throwing them on, cant remember the manufacture they are going to use...
- New Comp cams retainers
- New set of OEM lash adjusters
- Vortech Ysi head unit swap.... The current V3 is nearly maxed, maybe even being over spun.... Dont need that to explode next....
- New Detroit locker of Eaton tru track diff... I was doing some V6 bullshit at the track before it blew, during my burnout
Here are some pics of the damage if you didnt see it on my other thread..
In the pits after it blew, Notice the amount of oil....
Removed the plugs to get a idea which side had the probelm. Driver side, all the hot cyclinders burned up.... From fire wall, out...
Removed the driver side head to get a better look...
Closer pics of all 3
And the best for last.... I orginally thought someone at the track swiped my Go-Pro camera.... Well I was wrong. I was just so wacked out of my mind when I got home, I must have toke the cam out of the car and I have since found it in my garage.... Heres the vid of when it blew.... Enjoy
