NMRA in Joliet today was sick!!!

I went down to Joliet today to catch the qualifying round at the NMRA super bowl. To say that it was sick is such an understatement! The cars that were there were just insane. I watched some kind of 70's malibu wagon just walk a mach 1 by a solid 1.5 seconds. A freakin pinto ran the 1/4 in the mid 10's. Unfortunatly we went out to check out the cars and heard over the PA that someone just destroyed the rest of the field by running high 7's and hitting something like 174mph in the 1/4. Thats what we all thought we heard but didnt get to see.
Like I said in my earlier posts Im new to the car scene and this was only my first time at the strip for cars (Im coming out of the motorcycle world). But damn was I impressed with what I saw. Makes me realize just how weak sauce my stock GT is.
Man I have a long way to go.

it was probably the VNP guy that was kicking my ass down at Morrocco. He was running 8.11s and said he was aiming for 7.50s

He has a black cobra with a built 360ci dart block, AFR heads and boosted by a single Presicion 88mm Turbo.
