Novi 2200 or YSi?

Guess what? A JT trim will not work on our cars. The gear casing is not compatible.

So, Vortech has offered to give me a Novi 2200 or an upgrade to a YSi free of charge.

Any suggestions centri fans?

Novi 2200. 1450 cfm great for alot of differn't set up's, nice kit with the air to air intercooler. Like we said in the last thread the 1600 Cfm Ysi is pretty extreme for the stock bottom end.. You would have to restrict that ysi hardcore

He looks like he has a built bottom end....I'm running the Novi 2200 with the air-to-air intercooler and have been very happy with it so for. My Novi 2200 sits on top of a 302 Stroker with Stage 2 Heads and stock cams. The car isnt dialed in yet and runs great. The Novi provides more than enough power to please....and if your not happy your can interchange the pulley for more boost.

I have the 2200 with the mutha thumpr cams. Seems like i need to twist it a little harder to make up the the low end loss, but up top it pulls very hard with a 10lb pulley.

Yeah the low end power isnt there....but up top they pull hard.

The Ysi is rated at 1600 Cfm... bad ass mofo can make over 20lbs fairly easy if no belt slip

upgraded to a 10 rib for that beast and if you really wanna go crazy just go with a cog belt setup. Then belt slip is outta the question.

I went with the YSi since Vortech offered to do the free upgrade.

It will be run with the 2.5 pulley, 10% IW CP and the Vortech 8-rib kit.

You sure with the ysi? Friend of mine had one on his efi renegade car and with 2.75 and a bigger lower was making like 32psi at 6k

24psi is alot of Boost...you should make some insane power.

As for the 32psi, thats just pushing your luck. But if you can afford to do it, I'm all for it.

Keep us posted with everything, your car is gonna be nasty.

We won't be sure until we get it on the dyno, but AFM's mule is identical to mine and made 24.5lbs with the YSi with the pulleys I am using.

We'll adjust accordingly, but I am really not lookingfor more than 625-650 on a race gas tune, and whatever a seperate 93 octane tune will produce.

Basically what I am saying is I'd prefer to make the power with boost as opposed to timing.

Brenspeeds car made almost 700rwhp with the one i'm buying from them i believe. We're going to definately be pulling it down for a while til I can build a motor

well let me know what boost yours makes with what pulley. I'm also doing a YSi setup, so it will be good to know.
