NT555R

Anyone in this section tried the NT555R? I know its a drag radial but, i've been thinking of running them on the rear of my stang.

The only thing that worries me is if the sidewall will be too mushy for my liking, just looking for some feedback.

Ive never tried them on a road course but I make a run across the mountain from time to time and i cant tell a difference. Mountain rides are low to mid speeds. Never over 70mph in corners! And those corners are arent very often, most are 45-50mph corners!

Thats good to hear, although i love to do high speed cornering (80mph+).

Get the 555RII, if it is still offered. It is the road-course design. I'd be worried about a drag radial's sidewall folding over on the road course. Would never run a DR there.

If they don't make the 555RII anymore, get an NT01.

Sorry i should of clarified, this would be mostly for aggressive street use.

People have used DR's at autocross with decent results, if that helps any.

In any event, you can "crutch" the sidewall issue to a limited extent by stretching the tire out to a max-recommended width - or slightly wider - wheel for the tire size.

I'd plan on them heat cycling away before the tread was gone, and the car will tend to "loosen up" as that happens.
