So last night I'm out with my stang, my buddies GTR and his KB shelby.

We were doing a bunch of pulls and whatnot, mostly top end.

I must have done 5 pulls back to back messing around with my friends GTR again.

So I notice that my car is vibrating so bad I thought my wheel was bout to fall off. We pull over and check over the car, can't really see anything. Although at idle the car is still vibrating like crazy and the more gas I give it the more intense the vibration is.

So right there I told em I'm heading in for the night, it's still vibrating like crazy so I just take it easy and do 40mph on the highway. About 10 mins go by and i've noticed the car is acting slot better now.

I get home and park it. Later that night I go back out and everything is fine, I could never tell it was vibrating...

Same with this morning, drove great and pulls hard as shit.

Any ideas? I was really freaking out especially since we were doing continuous top end pulls

i'm lost, it doesnt seem to do it anymore but still, something feels "off" or maybe i'm just paranoid.

lol a friend of mine suggested i should stop running the piss out of it, hahaha.

I had alot of "free time" at work today, so i'm just speculating here but anyways this is what i think...

we were literally doing back to back top end pulls, continous WOT pulls over and over. The exhaust may have gotten extremely hot and expanded more than usual and started rubbing against something, which explains why it was vibrating at idle too and with the more gas i would give it the more it would vibrate.

as it was cooling down (i guess) the vibrations got alot less noticable to almost back to normal, and when i drove it today... yep no vibration

But now, i still feel like something is "off", the car has so much god damn vibration already from the solid mounts, spherical bushings and torque limiters its hard to tell whats normal and whats not, not to mention my extremely loud exhaust.

Fast vibration? Misfire type of vibration? LOTS of vibrations lol. Usually an exhaust vibration is easily noticed due to the unique sound it makes (hollow pipes)

I think a TR6060 is in your Future, the stock 5 speeds are rated to 360 Ft Lbs Torque, your killing it, You could have warped the clutch? did you smell any clutch burning? Used to happen to my ranger when playing off road.

BTW, I know someone who has a Very low Milage 6060 in Virginia, and Excessive can put it in for ya!

im going to guess you were right, check your steering shaft to header clearance, if its less than 1/4 inch the heat expansion would be my best guess, also check for your engine mount torque, i have had mine loosen up on me after repeated runs at WOT...gotta retorque them once in a while

let me know if you need anything else, oh and next week remember to bring 75-140 and friction modifier, or whatever you wanna stick in the rear, are we ging to install the tru trac?

how are those BMR a-arms ..... as far as NVH and for a daily driver ? with all the polly bushings I was afraid it was going to be rough on the road .

yes i would wait to reset pinion angle and everything till after you get the tru trac so we dont have to do it again, it will save you a few bucks in the end...

Do you have an after market drive shaft if so is it balanced correctly? Are your motor mounts in good shape (maybe a broken one)?
