ive been reading around on the different forums and found out that when that wrench light comes on and the car does go into a "limp mode" the TPS or the throttle body is bad.. go figure right? ANOTHER part to fail on this car.:deadhorse:
There are a LOT of things that can cause that. I wouldn't start throwing guesses out, or getting all worried just yet.

so how is someone suppose to find out what the problem is if the problem doesnt throw the check engine light? will the scanners that the Ford tech's use find that code in a history somewhere that my X3 wont? the car just deciding to go into limp mode while im accelerating to 65mph on the on ramp or highway is what worries me when it happens over and over again, but i can never find anything in the computer when i try to check it.

Well if it is the TB yours is the first with the issue. I'm pretty sure if you can duplicate the issue for a tech they can figure out what the problem is.

well if i cant get it to duplicate over the weekend w/ all the stock parts on the stock tune (so that i can TRY and get a code atleast it will HOPEFULLY be stored somewhere in the PCM) im still going to request a new complete relearn procedure be done regardless, and i will check again for a new strategy code because this last time the relearn procedure was done, the strategy code stayed the same.

-is the strategy code suppose to change when the car gets a relearn??

-if my aftermarket tune isnt ever changed and the car has the relearn done (but the strategy code stays the same as before the relearn) will the aftermarket tune need to be modified? if so what gets modified?

thanks for everyones help btw.

i never did.. my clutch pedal just slowly got worse and worse. by that i mean spongy feeling, and it got MUCH harder to put the shifter into gear. the pedal would start to disengage the clutch MUCH closer to the floor until i eventually had no pedal play at all.. the car would move forward w/ my foot off the brake, the shifter in 1st or 2nd gear, and the clutch pedal pushed in fully.

I now have 7K on my car with no clutch issues. It's just not a good feeling wondering if the stock clutch is going to fail.

I will swap the stock clutch for a Ram,Mcleod etc. if I have any problems

So i last night i experienced the dreaded clutch sticking issue. My car says on the vin sticker it was built on 6/10. Welp, i guess the old rule of thumb 4/10 is out the window.

Wonder if i should take off the triax before i take it to the dealer, or think i won't get any static from it?

well i am now waiting on a flywheel... mine sheared of 2 dow pins .. Yayyyy

so did mine.. and they were both still laying in the bellhousing.. i decided to keep my 6spd car.. im just going to buy the Mcleod twin disk the next time all of this happens, and have Ford put that clutch in instead of the stocker.

wow ford really needs to get on the ball with this clutch shit. I cant believe they still haven't solved the problem. I bet they would be all over the problem if everyone with manuals started turning their cars in under the lemon law.

I did go after market.. but for the wk to be waranty I had to wait for the factory crap to come in. it was here a week ago with new pedals too. then he opend the tranny and say the flywheel snapped the dow pins :( a week later the flywheel gets here lol.. SO i have new pedal assembly, new flywheel, new Ram Clutch and new stock clutch in the trunk LOL...

THE ram is awsome car shifts smoooooth as glass with factory shifter. also the clunking in the rear is gone in between shifts. Now the clutch pedal feels awsome just like a cable tension. You can tell this is not the mushy factory pressure plate. tomorrow i will install the Steeda shifter and see howmuch better it gets..

Big thanks TO Jarred @ lethal for getting me a clutch that I didn't know was out yet or i woulda been back in the shop again..:)
