I would love to have a cobra jet, it is a very impressive car whether he built it or not.

Yes but this guy came over here to yell shit at SD. Don't get me wrong I dont swing on anyones nuts, but when he was done starting the EXACT SAME shit with SD in 2 different threads, then he accused pretty much the whole forum of being melvins that would give him shit about taking apart a GT500. Kinda bold to have 9 posts and 8 of them be knocks on SD and 1 be a knock on the rest of the board. JMO.

For the record I absolutely love the CJ. I cant wait to see what else comes from having Brian Wolfe as the director of FORD Racing.

I was pretty damn happy when I found out Brian was taking over the helm at FRPP. About time to have a real drag racer running the show.

I also like the CJ......especially in the side mirrors. :laughlots:

SD was being "Captain Save a Hoe" over here. "Hey guys look what I did on the NMRA board" That stuff doesn't fly with me.

I came here because of Matt D. I met him @ Milan this past weekend. Great kid from an awesome racing family. I watched his Dad making history with is Four Eye'd car. I had an 86, so he and Brain Wolfe were kind of my hero's growing up.

One thing about me is I don't back down from anyone, any arguement or any challenge. The funny thing is I got a phone call from out of state telling what a clown SD was.

Noooo, I simply asked if he would be one of the "Oh no you tore apart a Shelby" guys. I would never do that to a Shelby. I dig on the car, so why start with something like that.

I'm a nice guy, but I'm not gonna be whipping boy for SD.

I just took the whole tearing apart a GT500 thing personal I guess. I would tear everything out of a GT500 in a second. The only numbered car I would ever keep original and not drive and enshrine would be a 1987 GNX. Other then that everything else to me is fair game.

Really.....from whom? This ought to be good. I'm betting that you won't say though.

You know what they say about nice guys.

No reason to start a pissing match. I didn't even know you were known as SD before the phone call though.

Yep they drive bad ass cars :321:

Don't take it personal bro. This is the internet.

You really dont have any clue as to who this guy is do you?

Sure I do. He's Matt Syamford.......er, I mean Stanford. (please see Milan qualifying sheets for the punch line) Big time Cobra Jet jockey and proud proponent of the 2 step.

And in case you don't really have a clue as to who I am...I have included this for you. Enjoy. :beerchug2:

Well in my book the hood on your car isn't very good looking, but that's just in my book. See how books differ. Just because you have your opinion doesn't make it right or wrong. Just makes it your opinion.

So are you saying Ford Racing should have built these cars?

I built my Fox-body from scratch. It was a BONE STOCK car when I bought. It's not a 10 teens car knocking on the door of the 9's.

Should I have bought a Shelby, tore it to pieces and built it like the Cobra Jet? Would that make it any better? Or would you be the guy screaming "I can't believe you tore a Shelby apart like that"?

Instead of doing that I bought a piece of racing history. A car that Ford Racing built just for what I'm doing. Showing US the drag racing community that they are back in the game, bigger and badder than ever before.

yeah it is just my opinion and while it wasn't a stab at you personally now it might as well be... who gives a damn about tearing a apart a Shelby... not this guy... building is always better than buying... what kind of bragging rights is that to have. "I bought a RACE CAR, and won a race..." now wouldn't that be a bit expected... IN MY BOOK... JUST MY BOOK... thats not as good as saying. "I BUILT a fast street car and won a race..."

And like I said the CJ is cool in its own right, every fast car is, but in a street car class how the hell can you claim such a victory just cause you bought a way into it... Build a fast Shelby to do it or build a fast GT to do then thats a different story...

I am talking about a street car class only here...

:laughlots: you might want to get to know the man before you try another pathetic atempt to "burn him" with the "you bought and dident build argument."

Matt built his 91 notch himself. ( It traps in the3 140's) He has had several other stangs as well as restoring a 67 GT-350 with his old man. Trust me, he isent afraid to get dirty.

Hell, Even his Girlfriend built her own car Pink Carb and all (Had to get that one in Matt LOL!!!)

I didn't try to burn anyone and I am usually the peaceful one to get along with everyone but who the hell are you and how the hell do you matter to anyone? The past builds are great but I am talking about buying your way into winning racing races in this street car class...

The street car class hits home for me with people who build race cars to race people who try to build fast street cars for the street class then claim all these wins and think its such a huge victory...:beerchug2:
