What PSIs (oil pressure) are you seeing at hot idle, cruising, and WOT?

If I remember I’ll get some readings for ya. Just had new exhaust put on and a dyno tune. It has all the bolt on’s
-the cams. The oil has 2500 miles on it maybe. It’s full synthetic too.

My readings were taken from an Autometer electric oil pressure gauge [ Autometer says the electric is just as accurate as a direct reading pressure gauge ] and Mobil 1 5W 30 oil. Cold idle = 80 +. Hot idle = 22-25. Hot cruise = 60 mph less then 2,000 rpm = 50 psi, 70 mph + 2,200 rpm = 60+ psi. 75-80 mph 2,500 rpm = 70-75 psi. 4,000 rpm + 80-100 psi [ hot ]. You didn't ask, but I think the reason we see such wide spreads in oil pressure compared to older pushrod engines is a result of of relatively thin oils and driving the oil pump directly off the crankshaft instead of off the cam drive. Crank drive = full engine rpm. cam drive = 1/2 engine speed.

Idk if the old adage is still true with variable speed pumps and what not these days, but the rule of thumb I follow is 10PSI of oil pressure per 1K of engine RPM, though if I saw 8-10 PSI of oil pressure at hot idle, I would still be nervous.

My 3v generally sees 28-30 hot idle PSI, then 60 or so with some RPM
