Ol'blue is back (9.59 motor pass)

Well Ol'blue is back!!! And meaner then ever!!!

After a two week break where we freshened the motor after a blown head gasket (and did a few other mods to the suspension and such) we took her to the track.

She ran an all time Best of 9.59 at 140 mph on ALL MOTOR with a 6.16 in the 1/8th at 115mph!!! Our best motor pass prior to this was a 9.79!!

That's right NO Spray!! She 60' 1.41!!! Better then she's ever done on the spray before!!

And to make a good night even better.......they kept lining me up with Camaros!!:evillaugh:

Next week we spray her!! This week was just to test some of the modifications we made.

No nitrous? Did you up the boost on the KB? What did you do differently, would like to know the combination. Once you spray I think your going to have the quickest / fastest twinscrew around.

Wow, car sounded real good. Nice parachute.......getting ready for 150+??

She's already been 154MPH, that's why we had to put the chute on! They wouldn't let me run anymore with out it.

Same pulley, same boost.

We installed a 100mm metco pulley in place of one of the idlers to remove belt slip (if you listen to some of the old videos she screamed coming out of the water box, not anymore)

We installed a fuel loop between the rails to give extra volume and make sure the last injectors on either side didn't go lean.

We opened up the exhaust side of the heads some more and installed all Ferrera valves, springs and retainers (weren't available when we did the heads before).

We studded the heads instead of using stock bolts.

That's pretty much it!

Ooops forgot....went up 25lbs/inch on the front springs and changed the shocks to QA-1.

Yep, 2 week turnaround! We already had a list of things we wanted to do...when the head gasket popped we took the opportunity!!

Awesome! Congrats! That is one sick KB car.

Thanks Don!

We have a 3 day event this coming weekend. Test and tune but the only thing allowed to go down the track is cars with slicks. The track should have teeth!!

So this week we're replumbing the nitrous (we went to Wilson Solenoids and removed the Zex kit). We'll put her back on the Dyno and tune for Nitrous and get ready for this weekend!

We'll make 60' hits on Friday and dial in the suspension a little more for the nitrous. Then (with any luck) Saturday we're going to try and make a number! If the car performs like yesterday and the track is there we might be able to get that elusive 8 second pass. If so........we're just gonna drink beer the rest of the weekend!!:bigbeer:

Very nice, Eric!!! Looks like the new springs are working really well. Glad to see the car leave like that even on the transbrake. Damn nice leave.

So now Matt is working on mine????? <I sure as hell hope so!>

That number is what I really want mine to run with the stroker and more boost. Congratulations man!!!! Since I have to be in Orlando, you guys better call me this weekend when you ring up that "8".

I believe Wan was pulling your motor yesterday SD. I think they already have it out actually.

What's the deal on the Shortblock?? Is it on the way??

Yeah, the springs helped quite a bit. However, I think the biggest part of it was just going back through everything and resetting everything. Hell we've beat on that car so hard it needed it!

New shortblock won't be here for another week or two. The used engine I bought is in the shop. Going with another stocker for the first three race during March. When I bring the car home at the end of the month........the fun begins.

Well then maybe they alreay had it going back in?? I wasn't sure but I know they started on it earlier in the day.

Honestly, I didn't look that close. I'll go over around lunch and look for you (if you haven't made a pass by then).
