Well, at 52 years old and 30+ years with the Army, I'm being forced into getting a new clutch for the car described below. Not being forced because of physical problems (well maybe a little), but I'm no longer drag racing the car, its' my daily driver, and I've picked of a nasty intermittent rattle coming from the clutch when the car is cold.

I've got a SPEC Stage 3+ in there now that's worked flawlessly for nearly 5 years, but if you've driven one there not the most street friendly... especially in stop-n-go traffic.

Looking at going back to a SPEC Stage 2, 2+, or even a basic 3. But am also open to RAM, Exedy, or others.

If you do have a suggestion, please give me more information besides, "Get a RAM!!" <grin> I'm trying to get this done before going to Fort Irwin/NTC next month.

Thanks,

Mike

With those power numbers you're going to be somewhat limited in choices. I went with the Exedy Mach 600 which is probably overkill since I'm at around 445 to the wheels. The feel is definitely firmer than stock but very streetable.

If you're willing to spend the money, an RXT would be a great choice.

I just had a Exedy Stage 2 put in and love it. Supposedly holds up to 510 lbs of torque.

I don't know what's so unfriendly about the 3+. It feels like stock to me.

With that clutch it is all about break in. If you break it in correctly it will behave pretty good. If not it's a light-switch.

The RXT/RST is better than stock IMO.

I have the Spec 3+ myself but when its time for a new one I will probably go with the RST McCloud twin disk. I'm only 42 and only have 23 years in the army though. I haven't advanced to your excessive stage of falling apart yet.
