Thanks! I never thought painting was going to take this long but it is what it is. I haven't really ever been able to get a full day over there though. A couple hours a day essentially. I'm not cutting corners and it's getting done right the first time. I'm pretty anal so the lines are about perfect as you're going to get. I'm almost done! I finished the dining room, hallways, kitchen, and family room. Now I just have the third bedroom, master closet, second bathroom, laundry room, and garage. Oh, don't forget about the baseboards and door frames. FML! LOL

I finished the third bedroom, which will be my office, tonight and finished painting a hall closet that hadn't ever been painted since the home was built. Next is going to be the Laundry Room and the Master Closet.

The next step is going to be ripping up the tile in the Master Bathroom. Than any cracks in the floor with be filled and than a floor membrane will be applied ontop to prevent any moisture or insects from infesting the home, etc. I'm going to be getting all of the tile, grout, Thinset, etc tomorrow, along with some other stuff I need like a Kitchen sink, random parts and pieces, etc. Hopefully get some other Coach lights for the front of the house and the side entry door as I wasn't thrilled about what I had bought before.

It's been a while but making a lot of head way. Lots of stuff that didn't get photographed, odds and ends, etc. I did the ceilings on the patio and entry way. I just need to do another coat of paint and finish the corners with molding. Also, sealed the front stone. The only thing that needs to be painted is the garage but I've been waiting since I'm making a mess from cutting the tile. Than, I'll coat the floor at the same time. I finished painting all of the baseboards, door frames, etc. Now I just need to spray the doors and install the new door handles. I'm just going to refinish the door hinges. Here are the handles I bought for the whole house.

I installed the coach lights and the side entry door light. I didn't photograph them but with my iPhone.

Here's some photos of the tile. It's all laid now. I just need to grout tomorrow and than once that's set I'm going to seal it.

looks awesome man, funny how car guys are usually pretty good handymen. Must be our love to tinker with stuff. So the before pics ? All that furniture was just abandoned in the house ? That kitchen color, hooty-hoo, most heinously unusual, haha. 2 years even in florida with all that humidity is tough on stuff, but it looks like you're doing it right. I've owned a bunch of houses, some new, some old. Always fun to make them your own, congrats on the purchase. Owning a home is the american dream and what America needs to get back to having a healthy, thriving economy.

It doesn't hurt to be in the business! I own a flooring business so I've learned a lot from being on job sites, etc. Thankfully, I'm not out on site anymore.

The before pictures were from when the property was listed. If the photo quality, lense, etc looks familiar from all of my photos it's because I took the photos originally. Parents own a real estate company and it was their listing. After a few months of being listed they relocated to GA so it was vacant for roughly 2 years.

But, you are right it's killer on a house. It's really unbelievable about how it takes such a toll on things. Most people wouldn't believe how it takes effect and brings the property down.

I got a bunch of stuff done today but not many photos. Spent a ton of time in Home Depot getting a bunch of stuff, 30 minutes just so a retard could order me TOILET SEATS. Although I did get to see someone have to clean up human fecees off the floor. I guess they couldn't make it to the bathroom?

Touched up all of the wall paints and ceilings, completed painting the A/C returns and re-installed them, installed all of the dome lights in the hallways, closets, etc. Floated the floor for a smooth transition from carpet to tile. Than cleaned up for carpet, which is starting tomorrow at 9:30. I know I'm forgetting stuff though.

Here's the Travertine Marble installed, grouted, cleaned, sealed and finished!

Door Hinges, which are a odd size otherwise I would of replaced them. Slightly larger than what is the 'standard' so I was going to have an awkward fit on the door frames.

Sorry for the bad iPhone pictures but it'll do for now.

Carpet was installed today. It came out perfect! Shaw 53 oz carpet, color is Pine, 8 lbs pad. Great installation, very happy. Seams are perfect and was able to get only 3 seams. They split the hallway so both bedrooms are one piece so no angle cuts for door ways. Another seem under the Family Room fan / light and another before the Master Bedroom.

While they were working on the carpet I got some more stuff done. The previous owners had moved the top shelving in the Master Bedroom closet to almost the ceiling. It was worthless so I patched all of it, textured it, and sanded it to match. Tomorrow I'll paint it and touch up the baseboards from the installation of carpet. Than hopefully caulk all of the baseboards and everything else in the house. I removed the old Master Bathroom vanity light and installed the new one. Lastly I was able to get the old sink out and install the new Kohler 33x22" SS sink and Delta Victorian faucet. I really like how it came out.

So I got everything done besides wiring up a wall socket and cable box in the Master Bedroom so I can mount the TV. Mount the shelves in the Master Closet. Than clean up everything and move in!

The garage lighting was awesome to say the least. The previous owners installed a outdoor security light with a motion sensor on it. The light would come on and than turn off during the middle of doing something. It was beyond annoying. So that had to go and I installed some real lighting.

Than coated the floor. I'm going to fill the crack and than put another coat. Than, probably a nice gloss clear coat that is resistant to essentially everything including fuel and battery acid, etc.

I'm picking up the washer and dryer tomorrow.

I need to get the garage door realigned. It makes a bit of noise going up and is visibly out of line. I've got the ceilings on the entry way and patio to finish still. I ran out of time and put it on the back burner. I need to put another coat of paint on them and put up the crown molding. The patio used to have two lights with a fan in the center. I deleted the center fan box and made the two lights into fan boxes. So I also need to install some fans. I'm going to go through a wash all of the fascia and soffit soon. Painting the garage very soon, probably going to spray it. Than in Spring time will be the yard and fence. Here are some new photos from today though.

I had built that box for my old room. The room was on top of a two car garage so it was huge. I needed the box to lift the stand and TV so that you could even see the TV from laying down in bed. Luckily the dimensions were pretty spot on. It'd be nice it if was slightly shorter but I'm not complaining. I never understood why they charge $400 for pedestals for the washer and dryers. I have a couple dogs.

Great job, There's no feeling greater than getting a new home and making it yours, I was 47 yo when I could finally get a home I really wanted and after owning it 1 1/2 years I still find stuff to do, change, and tinker with.

great work man!! I've put a lot of work on the backburner too. need to finish up the garage before moving on to my next project. I think I have the exact same fridge as you. seeing your progress makes me want to put some work in on my house this weekend also.
