I'm pretty sure I know the priorities, but I'm curious for some input. I have a bone stock '08 GT. I'm going to be biting off upgrades in little chunks. I'm not looking to put 400RWHP down, go FI, etc. It's a daily driver that I'm looking to wake up a bit :naughty1:

So far my list includes:

CAI and tune
FRPP GTA's
LCA's
Tread (very lost on affordable 3 season tread)
Minor exterior mods

Before I actually got the car, the CAI and tune were number on priorities. However, now that I've had it and driven it, I am putting LCA's pretty much first. If I slightly get on it, I'm hopping all over the damn place. And what's extra power worth if I can't put that to the pavement (i.e. good tread).

Anyone else get their car and get tread before more power? I may even need to wait until next year to get the exhaust/cai/tune if the tires are expensive enough :(

Thoughts?

Those are exactly my first mods too. I was very happy with the results and I think based on what you say you're looking for, you will be happy too. Unfortunately, I am a power addict and so that explains the Whipple.

I think everybody starts off that way. When I got my Bullitt, I said it already has a CAI, gears, and an exhaust from FRPP, there's no need to mod it. Then I got a tune...to hold me over until the Whipple this summer.

Gears. Of course :thumb:

FRPP 3.73's look like they will set me back about $250 w/ master kit before install.
BMR control arms $135
FRPP GTA/Supreme GT $500
Tires ???
CAI and Tuner $550
Appearance mods ?

For someone with the above mods, does anyone have tread suggestions? I obviously don't need drag radials. I was flat out astonished that the POS OE Pierellis rated so high. I'm not going to be racing and won't be trying to take chicanes at 100+. The car WILL see rain though.

Thanks.

Still looking for tread suggestions. I did try and search and had a heck of a time finding a post with a good tire analysis. If you have a link, just drop it here ;)

Nevermind ... found a few posts. I apparently need to learn a ton about tires.

I went with the Goodyear GS-D3's specifically for their wet weather traction. Additionally, they are relatively quiet, ride well and wear is pretty good for a high performance tire. Even with the s/c, I expect to get 20k+ miles out of them. Only drawback is they have limited sizes available. I'd like to get 285-45's but they don't make them in that size.
