Use some antifreeze in the mixture. 10-15% minimum. Distilled water with WW alone may not fully protect the system from corrosion.

Sorry to hear about your car, sounds like the paint is going to be the biggest PITA. This is why I don't like anyone driving my car

Couple pics.
I'm not so much pissed about the busted HE as I am the fucked up paint on the bumper cover.
And he says "I barely hit the curb."

I 'tapped' a curb only once in my 06 with the CDC lip just inching forward into a spot, and you could barely see any visible damage looking at it. He smacked it hard to do all that.

Sorry to hear about this man, best of luck

I let my employee pull my car out of the warhouse just once. He gunned it and amost took out a curb. I reamed him hard and he has never touched one of my cars since. Fucking idiots.

Had that happen a couple times at work as well letting porters move my car or wash it. Never understood why people feel the urge to do that, if someone asks me to take my car for a cruise and I know them, I'd let them have a little fun in the car as long as I'm there with them. Once someone I trust does something like that when I'm not looking, trust is lost and they're not allowed near my car.

Tell that crap-for-brains he's buying you a new bumper cover and paying for it to get painted, or S197 Forum is going to roll in 25 deep and sell his organs on the black market.

Ok.
Got everything changed, plumbing is correct. Started the car, let it idle for what had to be 30 minutes. Waiting on the HE Pump to kick in and start filling the AFCO unit. Watched my Aeroforce gauge get up to 165* IAT thinking the pump has/had a sensor in it to kick ON. Watched the Intercooler reservoir for fluid to start flowing. Nothing happened. No flow. I was looking for flow similar to Justin @ VMP's AFCO Install YouTube video. Nothing.

Do I need to run this thing down the road to get it flowing? Did the pump burn up?

Any ideas?

Thanks!

It's a Bosch pump.

Is the pump running? You should hear it. If an air bubble hits the pump it will easily lose its prime. I used to have a heck of a time repriming mine, now I just crimp the return hose in my hand and blow into the reservoir as hard as I can. That forces enough water into the pump where it can begin pumping on its own again.

^^^ this!!! Mine use to be a pain in the ass when it lost prime. I'd have to take an air nozzle to get it running again

Dave,
I "thought" it was fine before this happened. I could watch the temps drop pulling off from a red light, so I assumed it was working? I'm not sure where/which breaker it is.

skwerl & Torched,
I didn't know it had to be primed. I'm pretty positive the pump was empty. When I disconnected the busted HE there was nothing left in it...maybe 2 oz. fluid came out.

IIRC, pressurizing the system will prime the pump as well, there's a trick with a plunger that I read. I'm Trying to find it.

My question was meant to ask, did it run KOEO or KOEOffetc

Edit - ok, so no write up on the plunger, but from what I read, us it like you would on any occasion. Put it over the resivior and pump it a few times to jump, the fluid flow to start.

Oh shit. Dave, call me a dumbass if you want. I can't makeout KOEO.

It took me 6 months on this forum to figure out IIRC.

Sorry

Ok.
Dave, skwerl & Torched...all 3 of you seem to be confirming my pump ran dry. I'll see what I can do with it in the morning...starting with the plunger method.

Thanks guys!

Seriously, it's not complicated and not difficult to resolve once you understand what is happening. You filled the system and the water filled up the hose leading to the pump but there's an air bubble in the pump. Pump turns on and the impeller spins in the air bubble, can't draw the water.

On my car the line from the bottom of the reservoir goes to the pump, and the return line goes in the side of the reservoir. Turn on your key or do whatever you do tho turn on your pump, you should hear it spinning. Grab the hose on the side and crimp it like you're crimping a garden hose to keep the water from flowing. Then put your mouth in the reservoir opening and give it a quick, hard blow. Release the hose and water should flow into the reservoir. If not, repeat. You only need to move the water far enough to displace the air bubble in the pump.
