Piston and head damage

Piston and head damage. No damage to cylinder walls they look perfect. Also this is the only piston without carbon build up. Any way that the head can be reused??. Thanks!

What the heck got in there? As long as there's not damage that cannot be seen from the pics (i.e. valve seats, etc,) I don't see why you couldn't mill the head and reuse it. I"m sure others with more experience will chime in but that's my $.02.

Have a good shop take a look at the head and pull the valves out and check everything. I would also cc that chamber if everything else check out

If that is a boosted car, I would replace the head and piston.

It was boosted. I'm tearing it down right now for a rebuild and changing to nitrous. I was going to have the heads cleaned up and reuse them.

I had one that looked like that. I just had it milled and gone though, worked fine.

What caused yours?
