Well I went to Island Drag way today. Temps in the 80s and the DA was 2100! Never ran with such conditions. My second pass yielded my best time: I'm 0006

Had fun running a friend with a Z06.

Yeah I took him on that pass...tree'd him hard and out 60'd as well... then we hot lapped and he got me on the second go by 0.8!

All in all a fun day!

Well you won't get any empathy from us on the left coast---we run in that crap all the time. Actually, I will be running in worse conditions tomorrow at CA Speedway. 2100 da would be good.

But, truth be told, it doesn't effect us FI guys nearly as much as the N/A guys---but it did still effect you by a little over 2 tenths and 2 mph it looks like.

LOL... for sure. 2,100' is a good day at Barona. It's at 1,700' elevation to start with. The best DA I've ever seen there is 1620 feet. And I've seen plenty of 4000+ plus there in the summer (worst was 4500).

well here in NY we have to drive 2 hours to get to the track - so while u Cali guys have poor DA's you get to go easily! The tracks in NJ are all at elevations of 100' or less! So usually we get good air when we go in the spring and fall.

The Z06 ran a 11.79 on his first run. He was running stock run flat tires that are fairly worn. It was also his first time out at a track and he was nervous when we lined up as I was the one who invited him! He had a few 12.0 runs as well. And yeah...the prep was poor

Well, I'm running Sunday at Mason-Dixon (Maryland) with a temp of 80-85* expected and humidity around 50%. Track prep should be good as the test and tune is mixed in with a local special event. My son went last weekend and was .5 sec off...

Up here in the cold north with the mosquitos.
 on the vette kill. Nice numbers even with the crappy conditions.
Our track was open for the first time last friday, disapointed with my numbers but it is the first run of the year and times always get better as the year goes on. Very slippery and a DA of 3000 I got a best of 13.3 and 1.7 60'. With the new ds and clutch was hopin for 12's, maybe this friday.

Don't forget... drag racing season is 12 months long here, too. :moon:

Yeah, but come east some day if you want real mine shaft air, instead of that molasses your cars are breathing on the west coast.
:party:We got air, woot, woot...!

Yep, just got back from "Poor Prep + High Temps" Version II yesterday. How about a 3700 DA? and 60' times a full 2 tenths off the usual because of the lack of any prep.

I know what you mean. When I ran there in May the DA was around 4300. I bet the next time I run it will be closer to 4500 or more.

Last weekend in Commerce we had 3300-3900 d/a's. Plus that track is so green it's sad. Just can't wait to see how high the density altitudes are at Bristol this August. Last year was the highest we've had at that event.......6220'. Not enough air for birds to fly.

I will say that here at home from October through March is a dream at HRP. The starting line is five feet above sea level. We average less than 100' of d/a during those months and typically we're in negative numbers.
