Let me start by saying that this question even sounds dumb to me, but.....
So as I posted earlier today, I got new wheels put on today. They are aluminum wheels in place of the stock 06 GT wheels. Everything seems fine, no sounds maybe a little better in handling going from stock 17's to 18's but the problem is in the braking. It just feels different. I would think that there would be no difference since the brakes and components are the same just different rims and wheels. but it feels different when I step on the brake mostly at lower speeds, under 30mph.
I had the local Just Tires shop do the switch. Should I be concerned that they screwed something up? or is this normal.
Sorry for asking such a dumb question.
Thanks

Feels different how?
more rolling weight can affect braking.

Yea, more rotating mass will affect braking. Any idea what the weight difference is of your stock wheel/tire vs your new wheel/tire?

look at it this way. you have a record player. you have two size records. on small, one big. which one will stop faster if you turn off the record player. the smaller one with less centrifugal force to carry it around its axis

Whats being asked here is whether or not changing the wheels would effect how it feels when brakeing. As to how it feels different it feels rougher in a way. Almost like how brakes feel when the pads are getting low or maybe cracked. Its just a completely different feel at slower speeds.
The tires are 255/45zr18's
Again, Im just getting into cars I just dont know much. So flame away, these are just growing pains for me

so how does it feel? better? worse? taking longer to stop? shaking?

you may have gotten a much heavier wheel and you are feeling hte difference because it takes more force to stop it. or your new tires feel different compared to your old ones.

what kind of tires and wheels?

The roughness can easily be from different tread patterns in the new tires. I know my Falken 452's on my 18" bullets feel much rougher at low speeds since they have some nice directional grooving in them, but at normal highway speeds they feel no different.

The the OP.

Pretend you're writing a novel. You're on chapter uhh.... 8. You're describing your trip from point A to point B. Some thing like this...

"As I come from my beloved's home in XYZ, I notice the pavement underneath me feels as though____... As I begin to step on the peddle it is as if_____... I come out of the turn and the tires seem to _____..."

Try to help us help you. You're not going to be flamed for a dumb question here. Maybe for lack of description and vague answers on your part.

They are falken tires. Its nice to know that this might be the reason.
What happens is that at faster speeds the braking seems the exact seem as stock felt. When it goes below 30mph it feels rougher on the pedal more of a noticable vibration or more pronounced is the best way to describe it.
Thanks guys for the patience.

My experience with falken tires is they seem to be a harder compound of rubber, when I ran falkens on my old 5.0 i got a lot more noticable feedback threw the steering and pedal assemblies. Its hard to say this is the problem but coupled with the fact you are now running a heavier wheel and tire package it probably is a part of it.

Thanks for all of the help guys. Took it to the shop today and checked out the brakes and wheels. There is nothing wrong just my paranoia and learning curve with the new wheels.

Yeah it definately seems as though he has gotten better tires than he has before and they are giving him more feedback as to the road surface. Would you say that the pedal is giving you more "detail" than before?
