I just discovered something today while cleaning my wheels. Piano black isn't just a gloss black. I knew something was different when I look at them in the daylight vs other black wheels, just couldn't put my finger on it. Well, I use a flashlight against the black to make sure they're clean, since its hard to see details due to the shine they give off. Well, they're actually a black metallic gloss. The black isn't just black, it's a smooth metal flake black. That's why they shine so dang much. The dark blacks are deep, and the lighter blacks aren't as deep, well because the metallic. I thought that was kinda cool. Hard to take pics of the metal flake since it's so small, but its there.

I only half qualify for this thread (the front is 19x9). The wheels are staggered in terms of wheel/tire diameter (rear tire 2 more inches of diameter compared to front), but both front and back are 275s.

I think the look is unique and that rear tire really fills the fender.

That's the same height I'm running front and rear, I think that looks amazing on our cars. The lift in the rear gives it that muscle car stance. Dropping the front.

So true. I had the car for a couple months before lowering it / changing the wheels and besides little kids who thought the car was BumbleBee from Transformers, not much interest. Now it gets a lot of comments just driving around town. The black billet grille and chin scoop help complete the look.

ok so this is what im thinking of doing rims are gonna be 20x8.5 in front and 20x10 in the rear, so for tires doing the toyo proxes 4 255.35.20 fronts, and 295.30.20 rears, u guys think that will look alright?!?

255/35/20 up front on a 9in wheel and 275/35/20 out back on a 10in wheel. Falken FK452 tires.

I took the car to Fred Cook at Evolution. He came up with the wheel / tire sizes once we agreed on the wheels. At first I thought the setup sounded strange with the rear wheel having both a taller rim AND a taller tire, but the final product just works. The fitment is perfect. If I look down the side of the fender, the tire is exactly in the same plane as the fender.

The lowering was achieved with Steeda Ultralight springs on stock struts. (all other geometry fixed).

As far as turning performance goes, I don't know yet. I haven't had an opportunity to push the car to the limits. I'll have the car Virginia International Raceway for SVT CobraFest over Memorial Day weekend and that's where I'll see how it handles. I took the stock car with 19" wheels and Pirelli tires to Summit Point WV for an SCCA PDX in March, so I have that experience as a reference. All I can tell so far is that the NT05 tires don't squeel in the turns (damn that's annoying on the stock ones, reminded me of the sound effects in a 70s cop show)
