problem with tci super streetfighter transmission??

I'm getting the code p1780 after I installed my tci transmission
I get the wrench light and causes it not to move can anyone help!

P1780 - Transmission Control Switch (TCS) Out of Self-Test Range

Description:During key on engine running (KOER) self-test the TCS must be cycled, or a DTC is set.

Possible Causes:
  • TCS not cycled during the self-test.
  • TCS circuit short or open
  • Damaged TCS switch
Diagnostic Aids:Verify the TCS switch cycles on/off.

Application Key On Engine OffKey On Engine RunningContinuous Memory.





Did you properly adjust the TR Sensor and cable when you installed the transmission?

Adjust
With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist.








Disconnect the shift cable from the manual control lever.

Loosen the screws.

CAUTION: The digital TR sensor must fit flush against the case. Tightening one screw before tightening the other may cause the sensor to bind or become damaged.












Using the special tool, align the digital TR sensor and tighten the screws in an alternating sequence.
  • Tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).

Install the shift cable to the manual control lever.

Verify that the shift cable is adjusted correctly.


Selector Lever Cable Adjustment


With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist.

Place the transmission selector lever in the D position.



Lift the lock upward on the transmission selector cable lock and remove the transmission selector cable from the selector lever.

Place the transmission manual control lever in the D position by rotating the manual lever clockwise to the extent of travel, then rotate counterclockwise 3 detents.



Install the transmission selector lever cable on the selector lever and push the lock downward to lock the transmission selector lever cable adjustment lock.

the street fighter i got blow up, warranty required me to ship to to them, cost me 100 bucks, 3 months later i got it back, it still was only had first gear. local shop took it apart. showed me the used parts they installed. it was nothing more than junk yard core with a shift kit.

Their torque convertors are junk, I mean shit.
Tell me about it!!! MY TCI trans and convertyor have been in/out of my car three times now...in less than 1,000 miles!!!! Each time...gee..never seen that before??? lol. They dID however admit that thye had junk clutches and installed redesigned ones this last time.

HOPE like hell mine is right this time!!!! Sat out most all of last summer due to a smoked tranny/convertor AGAIN......my tuner/installer had no openings till late October.....I got my car back to Illinois when it was snowing....CRAP!!!!! Can't wait till spring to try it out!!!

Hope it is right!!thanks for the info...I took it to a local shop because of the time tci takes to fix and ship out..

The new clutchs were just made available in November. You could look at the serial ## on your trans and probably fine out the build date from that.

Ohh ok I think JPC was selling since around October but Ill let you know how everything works out

I would not put TCI products on my car ever again. Been there/done that.
