TCI finally returned my phone call last week. SUPPOSEDLY it's the convertor????? Still don't understand how it can make the EXACT same noise....running down the road under poower OR rolling down the road with engine shut off and coasting in neutral. They say parasitic drag will turn convertor..BUT shouldn't it be atleast slightly different noise when engine is off??? They were SUPPOSED to call me back Monday..after talking with their TQ convertor engineers...DIDN'T HAPPEN!! This BS is getting out of hand!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So if TCI is finally making everything right is this a green light to give them a try or still stay away? Are there a lot of people having problems with them or honestly 1's a 2's?

Talked with TCI today. Going to get a new convertor too!!!! A step UP this time to the Super Street Fighter 3,500 stall. Alot stronger built than the regular 3,000 stall Street Fighter. Will have to pay some $$$ upgrade fee...but...djunno how much yet. Have to wait for a convertor to be built......then zoommmmmmm, shipping and R&R everything. Doing the swap ALOT closer to home this time, as per where TCI said to take it. Hopefully everything works out ok this time........damnnnnnnnnnn

WEll i found out what the convertor upgrade is gonna cost me. $265. That's not too bad since the 3,500 stall 10" is a completely different/new convertor...made alot heavier than my 3,000 stall which is actually a modded stocker. The 3500 stall mis twice the $$$ of a 3000(roughly $1,000+) so $265 to upgrade is fine. Would have been NICE if they would have tossed it in/swapped straight across......but i'm taking this deal. The actual warranty is only 90 days and the trans/convertor was originally installed in late 2009.It has been a POS from the first install though....went out first time at 25 miles. HOPE this completely different trans/convertor solves the issues!

I would like to know how this ended up ???
I'm asking for a reason and it is not because I have nothing better to do with my time.
Additional information would be very Appreciated on how the New TCI and Converter worked out.

I can't say how my stuff is going to work or hold up because I won't get my car for a couple more weeks. Anyways, running oem 5r55s, TCI billet servos, and PTC converter (10" billet 3000 stall) with a hardened input shaft. I'll let you know how it holds up when I get it back and get some seat time.

Kimmer,

Thanks and I will be right here waiting to see what you have to say as I feel like you will state things as they are.

Oh and before anyone goes off the deep end I am not saying anyone else did not.

Terry....STILL waiting for that damn TCI to build my new convertor!!!!! The head fellow i've been working with is getting really pissed at the assemblers. Says they give him completion/ship dates on convertors..then NEVER get them done???? BULL SHIT for sure!!!! The new trans has been done for over a month now. JUST waiting for that damn convertor to be built. Then they are shipping the tranny/convertor and case of fluid to the installers shop!!! HOPE to get thet replacement stuff and get in INSTALLED soon!!! Dammit. I missed most all of last summer due to that POS TCI tranny!!!!!

Your experience is sad and disappointing but I think it helped teach us a lesson here...

Thank you for sharing your story and like other Mustang owners, I really hope this works out in the end for you...

I read your Post on another Site last night about this on going situation.
(Don't recall which Site)

Well I cannot decide to either go with an Auto or just wait and go with the
New T56 Magnum from Tremec.
The T56 Magnum seems to be the (Safer) choice over Built 5R55s Trans.

I would have liked to have read where owners with 500 RWHP & 500 Lbs. Torque were Happy with their TCI Super Streetfighter Tyranny's.
There were a Few but not Many.
And the other thing that really bothers me is that not hardly anyone actually drives MILES on the Street with the Built TCI's.
I want to drive mine anywhere I choose and Jump on the Go-Pedal whenever I choose.
Going to a Drag Strip and making maybe 4-6 Passes is one thing.
But driving on the street thousands of miles is a different deal for sure.

May just take what appears to be the Safer choice.

WEllllll.........I'm STILL waiting for the *&^%$#%^&^%$damn convertor to be built!!!! THEN they are shipping the new trans/convertor & fluid to the installer AND paying to install it!! FINALLYYYYY..after fighting this POS tranny/convertor since it was installed in 2009...LESS than 2,000 miles ago!!! My damn car sat out MOST of last summer...waiting for the trans to be rebuilt again!!!! It BETTER be right this time.......or i'm probably gonna stroke out!!! Then i'll come back and haunt the hell out of those a$$holes!!!!!! Myself..i would NOT use their shit...go elsewhere.....atleast until they figure the 5R55S out....lolololol:evillaugh::evillaugh:
