A friend races a 72 Ford Courier pickup that goes 137 in the quarter (10.30's). Blew a rear caliper after crossing the finish line. Luckily we were at Norwalk which has a long shut down. He was able to coast it to the pit. If it had been a track with a short shutdown, he'd have wanted that chute.
That's what I meant by "if you wait until you need it, it's too late".

Last week end we went 6.87 at 203 mph. We run nhra division 5 top sportsman. We actually have a very small engine compared to majority of the field out there, our Ford keeps taking a beating time after time! On motor alone aside from the nitrous she traps at 7800 rpms, runs 7.90's in the heat and high six's on the juice. I know they are two toatlly differnt cars but that is some Idea rpm wise. I will say, it took 5 converters to get one to work right with our set up, we are also running a power glide though.
