It has to be modified slightly. There is a section that needs to be ground off the tray to clear the #1 main cap. Aside from that it's an easy fit. I should have taken a picture of mine when I did it.

We ended up doing that as we saw the main caps didn't clear. It just was being stubborn. However, I decided to forgo it for the time being. I doubt I'll see any difference with it. I may sell it to fund new cam covers.

Nice job on the axle dude, it came out really nice!

Ordered what I'm missing -

Power steering return line. The entire assembly that wraps around the a/c condenser.

Brake booster cable

Fuel line thing

(Can't remember name) Power steering cable, since the 3v one was too big.

All the a/c lines are all hooked up. Flywheel is attached too. Need some bolts to mount clutch and the separator plate between trans and engine.

Going to disassemble rear end tomorrow

Self-etching primer - It was Rustoleum. It has a grey/green tint to it. Literally almost zero prep on the axle. Just wipe it down with a rag, and plug the breather hole, mask off the hubs. I also grinded off the factory sticker that goes around the circumference of one of the axle tubes. Used a can of it and then let is dry for about an hour.

Next round, I took high temp Rustoleum (same stuff I use on my mufflers) and coated it with two cans. Let it dry for 2 hours.

Nice job on the axle dude, it came out really nice!

You are right, they all should have come like this. My 2013 has it painted and how I did this one puts that one to shame, lol.

Heater hoses came in and they were easily installed.

While the axle was drying, I decided to tackle the suspension (of what I could).

Started with the front.

Took a break and decided I wanted to sniff some more paint. The rear wheel wells were looking a little faded from the wear over the last 23K miles. Decided to freshen it up with some paint.

Bolted the new rear shocks in.

Put the axle back in, along with all of its new goodies.

I have one more aethesthetic doing for today. Drained out the fluid.... the smell is just lovely.

Put on my new FRPP axle girdle/cover my brother gave me as a gift. The piece is solid looking.

All assembled.

Rear end now sports the following -
BMR Adjustable UCA + Mount
BMR Relocation Brackets
BMR Anodized LCA's
BMR Panhard Brace
BMR Adjustable Panhard Bar
Koni Sport Shocks
FRPP L Springs
FRPP Axle Cover (stock on the 2008/2009 GT500KR)

Thanks man. I've seen so many guys write up and show pictures of painted axles it finally got to me. It was definitely worth time time and $13 of spray paint lol. The little details don't end there, the theme is attention to detail with any of my projects.

Thanks guys. New driveshaft adapter showed up for retrofitting a 13/14 GT500 C/F 1-piece DS to earlier TR-6060 transmissions. Thanks to Tob over on SVTperformance

Quality piece and am excited to get it on.

Came across a deal I couldn't resist. Found a low mileage GT500 take off radiator for $50 and got a good deal of a C&R Heat Exchanger through Van at Revan Racing. Already have the intercooler pump and fan shroud so all I need is the hoses to button it up.

Still trying to find a set of valve covers. Didn't realize the ones on this engine are not the aluminum ones and can't be powdercoated.

Last big notable items I need (that I can remember on the top of my head) are:

-MGW Shifter
-FRPP Fuel Pumps
-GT500 Carbon Fiber Driveshaft
-2013 GT500 H Midpipe (and adapter to run 2.5" OTA pipes)
-Tune

Did you mean they aren't the ones that "can" be powder coated? What are they? I'm not aware of any 5.4L 4V valve covers that aren't aluminum. Those appear to be exactly the same as mine (aside from the paint).

I thought all of them were aluminum, but the local powdercoater was telling me the black 07-10 covers are not fully metal or whatever and will melt in the oven. I'm still confused about it and haven't taken a closer look at the covers yet. I thought they were all too, maybe he is just confusing the shit out of me. These covers were black ones and rattle canned with blue paint.

Even if he is mistaken, I am still searching for another set of covers for my coffee table project.

I'll try and get to the car tomorrow and remove the covers and go from there.

They're all exactly the same material. They're cast aluminum. We've had several of the black ones powder coated without a problem. The original black ones off my motor are now powder coated red and are looking pretty sexy on a '12 GT500.
