Did some work today and got frustrated once again.

Got brake pads and installed them.

Then I went to install the new head light harness. It all went together perfectly until I noticed a big difference in just this one connection.

New GT500 HID harness

Old GT HID harness

The plug this needs to attach to, obviously the new one doesn't look anything like it fits.

I'm so damn confused. this is a 2009 HID harness for a GT500, it includes all the other necessary plugs and the intercooler pump plug I needed, but it just doesn't fit that one plug off the harness on the fuse box.

Despite my annoyance with this project at the moment, I can't ignore the fact that it is all coming together nicely... I'll be on edge until I start it up and doesn't explode.

That's what I was thinking, but the new connector has many more wires attached to it, not sure what it has either. All I know is that the difference betwen my GT harness and the GT500 one is that there is wiring to the HE intercooler pump... at this moment I'm not sure if this is something that is tapped into the body harness or what not.

I wonder if that's why Sam changed out all of the wiring harnesses in his car when he did the swap? At least I think I remember reading that in his thread.

Thanks. Yeah, lately I've just needed to walk away the night. I've learned the hard way with my hobbies that when I get frustrated I become incredibly destructive, Lol.

Sam had no choice but to change it since his is a 05 and there is a huge difference between the 05-06 and the 07-09 body harness, since side airbags became a thing, along with ABS in the GT500, etc etc. I figured that half the hassle with wiring could be overlooked since I have all those things already, everything has gone together easily, except for this single plug. I won't jump the gun, however I sincerely hope it's not a big issue.

He is helping me out though and will be looking at his car to see what his looks like. I may not make it to the store tomorrow since I finally have someone coming to replace all the duct work in my attic, but I'll be there Saturday to look up on the computer and see if there are other HID harnesses that were available at different times.

Side note: I forgot to let you guys know that yesterday I also took time to remove the SJB and trace that wire. Turns out the guy had that wire tapped into another wire on the back of the SJB and it was shorting out the car because it was making contact with the metal in the floorboard. I have since removed that wire and bandaged it with some electrical tape. Once again, simple problems causing the biggest problems. Another funny thing I mentioned is that I couldn't get the OBDII port to work on the car when I tested power last week... found out it was just a ground wire I forgot to hook up in the engine bay.

Been digging around on Google this morning and seen there are two harnesses

*8R3Z-14290-HA
*8R3Z-14290-HAA

Have no idea what the difference it just yet and I can't find images of the "-HA" harness to see if it is different or if that the "-HAA" is the superseded harness.

If it doesn't fit, I'll just trim the motor mounts.
