Love the car Cam. Can't believe how much it has changed since we went with Jeff to VIR for charity laps. Your car sounded so good then. It was a tough session following the ladies in the BMW Z3.

....... I couldn't do it. I would freakin snap , start diving down inside of people, tear past the Z3............ and get kicked off the track.

That was an awesome day for sure, and I've really wanted to do that event again. It was a buzz kill though with the slow pokes in front of us.

I did love how the car sounded back then as well, but it came at a price with all the tuning issues associated with the Hot Rod cams. Lol

Reminds me of being on the Tail of the Dragon on my bike. Instead of worrying about gettin kicked off the track you have to worry about head on collisions an runnin off the side of the mountain when you go all road rage.

Funny you mention it... I was just there about a month ago. Surprisingly people were very accommodating and pulling over as soon as possible.... until Saturday when it turned into pandemonium.

I did the Dragon a few times years ago on my sport bike. The last time I was up there I got stuck behind a soccer mom/dad in a Suburban that was crossing the yellow lines at dang near every turn. I mean big time straddling the line! Had they encountered an oncoming vehicle, it would have been really really ugly. I was seriously expecting to have a front row seat for a head on collision, and i felt helpless to do anything about it. Thankfully, it turned out to be a non-event, but it was very touch-and-go for a while.

The scariest thing I've ever seen up there was an 18 wheeler didn't know what he was gettin into an wound up on it. Took up both lanes on the hairpins.

They've made it illegal from both TN and NC for large trucks to drive through there and there are signs on both sides for miles indicating detours. Going on Saturday is supposedly a nightmare. I went on a Tuesday morning and it was great.

If a bunch of S197 guys want to organize a meet up I'll be there. I have a buddy who lives near there and I'm only a 3 hour drive away.

I've never been on it on a weekend. We always planned our get together from Monday to Friday. It'd be fun in a Mustang but there's nothing quite like draggin peg (frame, not so much) on a bike.

It wasn't a track day - it was VIR Spring Open House, so pretty much speed regulated to a certain extent. Biggest rule was no passing.

Currently sitting in the waiting room at my tint appointment. Getting 35% put back on.

I live in Northern Virginia... no go on that. I thought about going darker but with ceramic tints, they only have 50, 35 and 15. I do have a medical permit for 70% on the front, but will get it done later.

VIR calendar has 12/2 as their next charity laps - maybe we could get a group together to meet there. It's a Friday, tough for some.

I think we all need to move to SC, no inspections and pretty much leave you alone on tint. NC is 35% max.

I have found the best time for the Dragon is very early morning, definitely should stay away on a Saturday.
